Philips seems to be making a comeback especially with OLED panels on the way.

Philips used to make a lot of TVs and quality ones at that.
Then they went into the OEM route and the quality also suffered.

There are some nice choices which are coming online.
Looks exciting:

That new 77" OLED looks interesting with DV and ARC available on all HDMI ports as well HDMI 2.1 and eARC..

My LG OLED TV died two months ago and went to a few shops to compare different OLED TV choices. In the end, went for Philips 65OLED984 due to Ambilight, built-in Bowers&Wilkins soundbar and using premium LG panel (not yet EVO). Experience is very good and immersive with the Ambilight. Yes it supports DV and all HDR formats.

It doesn’t support HDMI 2.1 and that’s ok for me as I don’t need them. Newer releases already do.

Mind to share how much u paid for the tv. I think all philips 2020 tvs does not support av1 codec. Not sure if it will be a big issue 2 or 3 years down the road, thats why i holding off waiting for the 2021 tvs

$3699 from BD inclusive of delivery, and wall mount installation. Also comes with tall stand if you prefer it that way.

Ok thanks. Any idea what is the difference between this model and 935?

Yes. 984 is their ultra premium, 935 came later with added burn-in protection, but basically a step lower (smaller B&W soundbar but added upward firing speakers for Atmos, more AI, etc).

I’ve seen and auditioned both, and I chose 984 as in my eyes and ears, audio and video are more premium. I’d say it has the best audio performance for any TV in the market right now.

986 will be the real successor to 984 and rumored to be released later this year.

Very interesting
The sound bar function will be an icing but for those keen on a premium screen, I’ll be expecting they will also own a nice HT system.
Hope they have 77 and 83” sizes

I have 5+ yr old Philips LED/LCD tv…just won’t die. Solid tvs for the price.
Same with me. Had a Philips plasma TV, and 4 Philips LCD/LED TVs at different times in the past, all of them won’t die until sold after 5yrs or more for upgrade.

My LG LCD TV lasted 5 yrs before it was sold, and my LG OLED TV died after 6yrs.

Looks like this year's OLED 4K TVs has 2 x 2.1 and 2 x 2.0, same as last year, plus it does not have the latest USB ports, again, same as last year.

Any Comment on PHILIPS 58PUT7605/98 58 IN 4K UHD LED SMART TV, now Courts sale for only $847 and free wall mount. quite Cheap compared with other popular budget TVs.
