Phuket Tour

Hi All,

Other than Mr Mark, is there any other reliable tour agency for Phuket? Is it ok to book there or should we book earlier? We are travelling there in June so I'm afraid it's going to be their peak season.

Did some read up.. rainy season is Apr - May or Sep - Oct.. so June is fine.. Thanks.. will check out together tour.. but is it cheaper to book the tour when I reach or better to book before I arrive?

It is always a gamble during the monsoon season, you can have perfect sunny sky and the next moment thunder storm. My advice is not to book anything till you are there, just go with the flow. There are lot of small little stall along the street offering tour, and June is the low season so you might be able to get a better price if you shop around.

Stay in patong, at least if it rains, you can easily kill time in Jungceylon.

p.s Are you going to phi phi island? The sea might be rough during this time of the year, most people get sea sick easily

Going Phuket for a short vacation. Staying at rawai, approx 30mins ride from patong. Advisable to drive? What are the rates? Any must go places on Phuket island? Not been there since pre tsunami.

Going there this Fri!!! The car rental rate is abt 850 baht / day. Definitely worth compared to taking their taxi or tuk tuk

jul should be offpeak ...
hotel prices is cheaper than other months ...
3* hotel, around junceylon mall area, should be about 30+ sgd per nite for two
went before jul, didnt rain much ...

July is low season, hotel and flight are cheaper but more rain depend on luck. Sea might be rough for day trip.

I used Mr Mark before for some island hopping, very satisfied. Don't need to worry about hidden cost or being pressured to give tips. With kids, just take note that the water can be quite choppy when taking speedboats. I went with young kids.

If day tour, you can find few good drivers from tripadvisor ...
their rates normally is standard one ...
such as 5 or 6 hours at 1200b ...

they would bring you go
big buddha
wat chalong temple
karon beach
3 beach viewpoint
cashew nut farm (not worth going, expensive cashew nuts)
bee farm (not worth going, expensive)
phuket town
central festival shopping mall

if you want do island hopping, they also have, however different charges
if you want elephant ride or go kart also different prices ...

How's the weather in June? Plan a short vacation there. Would 3D2N enough to enjoy there? If the return flight to SIN is 9am, how u guys manage that?
