For the first timer, I will recommend abt at least a 4day 3nites

You should visit at least one of the island which will easily take 1 day.
either phi phi or james bond island. But I prefer james bond island

Cause when you reaches phuket 1/2 day is gone and return also abt 1/2 day, thus 3 nite is actually quite short. There is a nite market too, quite decent. And few malls too. Rent a car there and you can travel to more places

How's the weather in June? Plan a short vacation there. Would 3D2N enough to enjoy there? If the return flight to SIN is 9am, how u guys manage that?

june is near monsoon season. need to check weather forecast for activities.

June is low season, lowest rain compare to other months of raining season. But sea condition may be rough, so it's best to go there then book any island tour.
I will go at least 4d3n
You return on 9am flight mean you waste 1 day.

3d2n might be too rushed for you ...

jun should be quite hot though ... Normally for budget airline, their promo price of $70+ on average, normally can only fly thu to sat, or sun to tue ... ultimately based on ur travel date ...

they might have depart sat to tue though ...
For full fledged, u might consider silkair, now promo is $ 139
