Don't trust 100% what you see on the net mate! Do you believe whatever you read on the net? Wake up...
If I do a blind test, I bet you won't be able to distinguish between them.

Sure, everyone would say cannot trust news from the net. But this news is from Pioneer itself. Some months back, I still can remember it was in channel 8 news as this was Pioneer own announcement.

Anyway, this is not a suprise as the company has been lossing lots of money in pass few years.

Sure, for the brand itself yes. But it will finally all end up price for value as when you open up, Panasonic and Pioneer is the same inside. Just the panel looks different. Enven those buttom key are at same location.

This is just like LG-Hitachi, Samsung-Toshiba.

if dun wan DVD player,$2399.
If wan extended warranty for 5yrs,$2499.but no dvd player.
As quote by a saleman name Don.
In the end,me get Panny PV8...
Wait another few years den change TV again..hahaha.

still at $2,399 :(
did he mention how much the display set will go for?

btw, don't go for B/D extended warranty
it only covers a percentage that gets smaller as the years go by
rather pointless IMHO :s22:

meaning to say that BD is "eating" the 250G dvd recorder back at $600??? $2999 - $2399 = $600.

yup. i got at $27xx with all freebies and warranty inclusive.

Congratulation on your purchase! That is very good price indeed and am sure you will enjoy it. What was the warranty and freebies?
If they can sell 508xg for 3.6k then I will purchase it straight away with no second thoughts.

If not, then have to settle for 428 :(

I purchsed 428 too tonigth from HN after comparing with Panny and Sammy plasmas. Even though I had to pay ~$800 more but I was willing to go for what I liked most rather than freebies cos I didn't want to regret it later stage. For me I paid $31xx (5yrs warranty, 1to1 exchange, same dvd recorder, and Pio free HDMI cable). Will be delivered this coming tuesday...:)

Now I am a happy owner and can't wait to receiving it!

Cheers,
David

You post you quote where you saw it. Since you enjoy posting the same comment, prove it.
Otherwise when you keeping making false claims, others need to know it is baseless

Just couldn't be bothered to go to PC show where all the crowds. By the way, I am paying instal payment with cc and the price include delivery too. and thought wasn't too bad giving payment options. Anyway, no more looking for a tv set for awhile now I am sure you will enjoy the set as much as I will.

When are you receiving yours? Mine arrving on Tuesday.

Pioneer 508 50" plasma -- 4999 no gifts.
Is this the kuro series? this price is hd ready or full hd? in your opinion bro (i asking you cos i think you are the expert on this. :) ), 50 inch size, need to get full hd not? (assuming i am playing ps3, watching blur ray quite often).

I liked the display at pioneer corner, they display all the tv side by side differnet model, when compared like that, hd ready and full hd, can tell the difference. but if you take away, see one by one, i think will be hard to tell.

they even display some other brand but they box it up, can't see.

The Pioneer 508 KURO is a 768p panel, not full HD, but you will decide if this matters.

Best to do some reading bro around the stickies...

Plus threads on viewing distance and also on the performance of this Kuro series.

As usual, your EYEs are the final judge, followed by your pocket.

Cheers

When it comes to tv screen, BLACK is everything for best colour, contrast, details...
I hope and am sure some of you will agree on this. ;)
