Poco F4 Pro to arrive globally with killer hardware from the Redmi K50 Pro series

After reports detailed the Poco F4 a few days ago, that phone's more expensive sibling, the Poco F4 Pro, has now been spotted on Xiaomi's IMEI database. A few details of the phone have also been revealed, with the premium phone said to be a rebranded Redmi K50 Pro+.

Poco F4, Poco F4 Pro receive multiple certifications

Meanwhile, the Poco F4 Pro was approved as safe to use by the Singaporian regulator IMDA with a slightly different model number than its non-Pro sibling - 22011211G.

The names were not mentioned in these particular certification listings, but they already appeared at other databases, confirming the Poco F4 and Poco F4 Pro are indeed inching towards a launch. Expectations are the vanilla version to have a Snapdragon 870 chipset, while the Pro could pack the Dimensity 9000 powerhouse.

More Xiaomi POCO F4 and POCO F4 Pro details surface before Redmi K50 series launch event

Earlier this month, Xiaomiui noticed that the POCO F4 Pro had appeared on IMEI databases under the model number 22011211G. Thought to be a re-branded Redmi K50 Pro+, the POCO F4 Pro should be joined at least the POCO F4 when it launches globally later this year. In the meantime, Xiaomi has certified the 22011211G with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in Singapore and the 22021211RG with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US.

As the screenshot below shows, the IMDA confirms that the 22011211G is a 5G smartphone; the Dimensity 9000 possesses a 5G chipset. In comparison, the FCC has published numerous details about the 22021211RG, including that it has a 4,400 mAh battery (rated capacity). Predictably, the POCO F4 will launch with MIUI 13, potentially based on Android 12 if recent Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K50 Pro+ Geekbench listings are anything to go by.

Reputedly, the POCO F4 could arrive with the Snapdragon 870, the same SoC expected to power the Redmi K50. Incidentally, @Shadow_Leak believes that the POCO F4 may be nothing more than a re-branded Xiaomi 12X, released last year in China. The Xiaomi 12X could debut globally on March 15 too, alongside the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. By contrast, Xiaomi will showcase more Redmi K50 handsets on March 17 in China.

K40S - Poco F4
K50 Pro - Poco F4 Pro

The price for the Pro might be priced around $700. Seems high for a mid range phone. Too bad no regular K50 version.

the K50 also not bad if one don't mind the 48/8/2mp lens, similar to F3 (48/8/5) but with OIS upgrade. Dimensity8100 is equivalent / slightly better than SD870 on paper.

however at the moment it's not announced in F4 series, maybe in future F4 GT/ X4 series

IMHO, SD 8 Gen 1 is a seriously flawed chip due to heat generation.
