F4 just came out mar.. Same as F3 come out so long.. The first few batch they earn more.. Now u buy 1 set likely xiami sell at a lost lor.

Actually I feel Poco/Xiaomi this time have dropped the ball really hard. Never have I seen a company name a sequel to a phone that is using the exact same SOC and upgraded the number.

There are probably technical reasons why they stuck to the same SOC (888, 8 Gen 1 have heating issues) and I respect that. But just upgrading the shell/casing and minor tweaks to the camera doesn't justify a whole number upgrade. Furthermore the price is jacked up.

Not cool.

Instead the F4 GT is looking to be a more appealing phone although honestly the price is still not low at all for a mid-high ranger. So its not a must buy category yet. At least for me.

what are the pros and cons ?

ie. the OIS seems to only work well on 1080P video instead of both with 4K

and the 4K recording is limited to 8 mins non-continual , meaning it will auto-stop recording at end of 8 mins mark and will need press start again over and over

is this true ?

if bang-for-buck, can consider poco x4 gt, cheaper than f4, but cpu is newer and maybe even performs better in some scenarios

Been using poco since 2010.
My daughter using Poco X3 NFC since 2020. And me using Poco F3 since last Apr.... so far the software is stable..only thing is that u need to disable all the ads after taking out from the box...

Previously i was using x3 pro, mi 11 and redmi note 9 pro and i feel there is minimal difference from xiaomi since they are coming from the same miui. So far so good for me for general use

if so, maybe avoid amoled/oled screens, and look for models with lcd screen

to avoid screen burn-in

Hmm come to think of it... gaming phones usually have special cooling systems to prevent the phones from overheating... wouldn't that be good for ur dad since he will be almost using the phone all the time when he does grab?

Oof LCD vs LED though, he's quite used to the quality of LED screens already.
