Hi all, looking to upgrade my dad phone from S10 Lite to this. Or anyone has other recommendations for this $500 price range.

If you from non-poco user and interested in poco

the F4 is last for you to get poco F series at under $500 (as @progene mention wait for 2.2)

yes they use same sd870 as F3 and its considered "old" cpu by today standards

but in a normal day to day use the cpu still can tong for another 2-3 yrs at least

and indeed sd870 is more than good enuf if you dun heavy gaming

F5 onwards will be using the newer 8 Gen series cpu

which definitely will push its price way beyond 500

and do take note newer cpu doesnt mean better

So if you want a relatively "high-end" SD cpu (but yet not considered a flagship by today tech standard) at a competitive price then sd870 is to go for

K50 Ultra is also about $500 after discounts.

It is a lot better than POCO F4.

but if can be offset by further vouchers or discounts shud can get abit more lower ba

iirc during last yr 11.11 you can get it for as low as $430-450 (8/256) after minus off all the vouchers

Still not considered the lowest if compared with F3

but then it is what it is

F3 now also no more in production

so no point comparing prices with it

No, due to the aging SD 870 processor...

Coming from Mate 20 Pro, K50 Ultra wins it in every aspect except for camera auto-focus.

You won't feel that it is a China ROM.

TBH SD870 is still a good chip even in 2023, SD888 and gen1 didn't really bring any significant improvement, even the latest 8g2 is barely 2 generation ahead.

Anyone encounter this error when trying to copy files to Windows PC from this F4 ?

Alr enable USB Debugging and installed all necessary USB/ADB drivers but still unable to copy

also alr checked and consperm the cable is working fine and able support data transfer

i've even factory reset the fone in case due to some corrupt system thingy that cause this error but still cant copy

any other Settings i need to change/enable on the fone ?

cos the issue is not unable to connect but unable to copy

SD870 i think can support up to 8K video record

but they "disable" it for F3/F4 in order to bring down its price

do you or anyone know which camera app that can "force out" the 8K option ?

or if they any 3rd party app/option that can "activate" the 8K video ?

No need 8k. Just look at Samsung s22/s23 ultra. The 8k recording is meh...
