Yes 8GB-256GB. Although I am not really a gaming person so the 8GB is wasted on me. But the 6GB or 4GB are not even available anymore.

I am upgrading from Redmi 10X which is actually China ROM version for Redmi Note 9, I had some adventure with that phone, which I bought 3 years ago on qoo10 export set and after an OTA update google apps stopped working lol. Then I had to unlock the bootloader and flash the global rom. The phone is still going good, but I itchy hands see the promo and bought this poco M5s. Main upgrade for me is going to be the NFC. Hopefully, I will be able to use Google Pay/Android pay and tap for simply go and dont have to carry my wallet anymore?

ya that one is the only worth for this 88 promo. but m5s certain specs lower than m5. cam is better than m5. lol. anyway for the price big storage is ok

i also tempted to buy but i hold because existing phone still working. lol i want the NFC function mainly.

all the xiaomi phone i think google will eventually brick the phone lol

My wife's RMN8 bought slightly more than 2 years ago just got an issue. It gets into boot loop, if not connected to the charging. While charging the phone is okay. So I think the battery is gone. I think it is better to upgrade a Redmi phone around the 3 year mark if it is still working fine. Atleast you can salvage something on carousel and but a nice phone during sale. For my wife, since phone died, I had to urgently buy a Samsung A04s export set from a physical shop for $142.

i tried many ways to resolve the boot issues. at first i also think its battery issue and buy new batt but new batt also same lol so later one by one diagnose i concluded google update really brick phones lol. my oldest RM i flash to factory state then don't update the google and turn off the gps to keep the phone alive. most things still can use. become like a spare phone or give children watch youtube also ok. but can never update it or will brick again. lol

i bought the poco m5 updated to the latest android ver and the reboot takes a long time now but at least it can boot up lol. so if your m5s after update reboot take long just wait lol very long wait so don't hard reboot

M5S is definitely a better choice than M5. apart from lack of 90Hz refresh rate, everything else is better, if can top up a bit to get that just get lol.

Moi been following this guy for some of moi fone purchases

usually his reviews or recommendations dun go wrong far

But unfortunately

he's too "honest" or vocal in his reviews

that XM hv "blacklist" him

thats why he only do limited reviews on XM/poco fones nowadays

I think Xiaomi resumed sending review devices to him but Poco chose to continue blacklisting him, noticed this M5 series were his last Poco phone reviews.

Poco M5S being a rebranded Redmi Note 10S which launched in 2021, will reach EOL status earlier than M4 5G and M5 (launched together), just fyi for those who are considering and particular about future support.
