Ok ended up buying 3 M7 256 GB... the first two managed to snare at $162 each... the third one at $159... I think pretty decent price already...

Noted the fast 4G speed... like the large screen and large battery capacity... IPS screen compared to the M8... but I bought M8 5G 256 GB at $254 which is like $90 for the AMOLED screen + 5G... and smaller screen some more...

Should I use the provided case? Feels rather thin (very slim though) but feels like won't protect the corners when dropped... maybe should still get a TPU with air bumpers at the 4 corners?

Whoa, 3 M7! (y)

I like the big screen. Colour is acceptable as a secondary phone. I use the case provided and if it is dropped and damaged, I'll just replace it with a new phone since it is not that expensive.

Guys, need an opinion... the difference between the M7 & the C85 is just the screen resolution (374 vs 253 ppi; size is same), screen refresh rate (144 vs 120), processor (SD685 vs Helio G81 Dimensity 6300) and battery capacity (7000 vs 6000 mAh)... I presume the C85 is one class lower than the M7... worth buying the C85 or not? It's that much cheaper... $135 vs $199... that's $60 off... is the difference in performance worth more than that $60 for the M7?

EDIT: got the processor wrong... not the Dimensity but the Helio G81 which is a far weaker processor...

Same as for the M7 = Facebook, video calls via Messenger, phone calls, casual photo-taking, light games... basically that's all... very simple use... most important is doesn't lag, smooth UI... you think the processor matters in this use case?

Just checked Shopee price and the difference for 8GB/256GB version is not big. In that case, just go with Poco M7 and not Poco C85.

Poco M7 8GB/256GB at S$159
Poco C85 8GB/256GB at S$132

Yeah bro... I realise the processor of the C85 = Helio G81 - seems more powerful but more power hungry than the SD 685...

The price you put up is for one unit lar... but I am buying a few units to give away as presents to my nieces and nephews, so the discount vouchers are spread out over a few units... so even though the difference is like $25 each phone, buying a few units and it all adds up... hahahaha...

I don't know you get the Shopee price for $159 for one unit... I checked it's $199. Add $30 Poco voucher = $$169... add Shopee voucher $164 only... I don't have Shopee coins though... I can't be bothered to give reviews lar... if that's how you earn coins now...

I bought 3 units again (so I have total 6 units now)... $199 is the 4.4 price... Add $30 Poco voucher + $70 Shopee voucher (min. spend $500) = $165 per phone...

So my 6 units cost breakdown as follows:
1. 2 sets = $162 each
2. 1 set = $159 each
3. 3 sets = $165 each

The black casing provided in the box doesn't protect the corners of the phone or the screen when you drop the phone... cos it's super thin, and basically for scratch protection only... so I had to buy TPU cases with corner air bumpers to go with each phone... also the silly black case covers the rather nice colourways and design of the back of the phone... surely Poco would want everyone to see the effort put into the design rather than cover up the back with a black case and everyone's phone looks the same??? Very strange design decision... whatever... good thing got cheap 3rd party cases...

Hope this helps anyone with intention to buy this phone....

1) Indeed the voucher is only for one unit. Price will be higher when buying more units.

2) I have the Shopee VIP voucher of S$25 OFF S$150 so I can get the following price.

Poco M7 8GB/256GB at S$159

2) With the normal Shopee S$15 voucher, then the price is higher.

Poco M7 8GB/256GB at S$169

3) But Poco C85 8GB/256GB price drops to S$126 now with the normal S$14 platform voucher.

Now Poco M7 seems to be much more expensive for the Shopee 5.5 offer, before any payment vouchers and coins

Poco M7 8GB/256GB at S$234
Poco C85 8GB/256GB at S$153.4

I have been using the M7 4G for the past day or so. Basically setting up the phones for all my nieces and nephews... basically deleting all the unnecessary apps... and then installing and setting up FaceBook and Messenger... interface feels a bit laggy (compared to my Poco F7 Ultra) - a bit of delay when you press a button, or waiting for the phone to respond. I set the screen refresh rate to 144 Hz... but the screen is good, nice colours, large and easy to use. The camera output is pretty good with the main camera... no pixel peeping of course. For social media, it's perfect... I think overall value is great!
