It's your setting problem:

1) enable your calendar app auto-start, and
2) under the calendar app, settings, other permission, enable "allow pop up while running in the background" ...

Close and restart your calendar app ...

For me I haven't experienced much difference yet ... You can try flashing the 12.0.7 manually one more time ... There could be some files corrupted or not updated properly ...
