Is it? it's still ok for me. No bugs for me except for the constant updating of apps on a almost daily basis since upgrading from the original miui that the phone came in but that could be due to android requirements. Heng ah...

I think the bugs are quite specific, some not really obvious so most people don't care and some only if you use certain apps and it affects. But day to day use no issues la. Shall see much better the enhanced edition makes it. Looking forward to Android 12 too

Need some advice for an upgrade from my current primary phone (Poco F1 64GB). I notice Poco X3 had released quite a few variations, on top of F3. I tried to check the various vs comparisons between the different models but it seems like the difference isn't huge.

Things I am looking at to move and upgrade:
At least 128GB internal memory
Dual sim card slot (additional memory card slot will be good)
NFC and infrared good to have
3.5mm jack good to have
This will be my primary phone; daily use scrolling social media app, watch some YouTube, listen to songs from phone or Spotify, play some games for an hour.

Which model would you recommend???

Coming from an 800 series SoC, i would recommend you get another 800 series one so either X3 Pro or F3.

The 2 difference you have to look out for mainly is whether it's 700 or 800 series of SoC, while navigation wise, or opening apps might seems fast, the X3 NFC for example, uses a 732G and UFS 2.1 so you might feel it's also fast coming from Poco F1 but once you touch a phone with the newer 800 series SoC with UFS 3.1, it's a different story.

As for the X3 GT, i dunno. I supposed since it's the Dimensity 1100, it can be quite powerful but i'm not so sure about other things and currently, i'm still not into Mediatek.

However, if you are insisting a 3.5mm and microSD slot, then your choice is only X3 Pro. So right now, the question is only left with, is SD 870 much more powerful than SD 860 and if so, are you bothered by it. I used to test a phone with SD 855 (SD 860 is a newer version of SD 855) with UFS 3.1 and it's real fast but that was 2 years ago.

I have downgraded from 8xx class to 7xx. Can't tell the difference in speed
It depends. I think if your 8xx was 3 years ago, you probably can't feel it. In fact, you might feel the 7xx of today might even be slightly faster. I have 2 phones with 7xx and 1 8xx from last year, difference is very obvious. Like @twosix said, app store is one and the other is photo and video taking. Without comparison, it seems fine but when I got my poco f2 pro, the processing speed is so much faster. Not to mention there's more video recording capabilities with the 8xx

Macro shots now the in-thing thanks to iphone 13 pro. Haha..

I thought almost all have tele macro since last year or something.

I'm actually hoping phones will have microscope zoom like the Oppo one then leave the macro to the ultra-wide.

So then, main, ultra-wide, periscope zoom, tele macro and microscope. Every aspect also covered.

Oh, not yet. 360 will be the one though Vivo is having it now, This is a feature i've been wanting for years next to periscope zoom haha.

china phones are the first to come equipped with macro shots, but i guess nobody actually uses it because of its low res and poor pq.

the recently launched vivo x70 pro has very good cam reviews, even better than ip13pro. haha... competition is heating up very fast.

I think tele macro came from Huawei first or something? Then Samsung use it so there's no need for a separate macro camera and the resolution is higher too i think. Most macro cam at 2mp is really pathetic lol. My Poco F2 Pro at 5mp is fairly decent since most macro photos are already closed up so what's all you'll wanna see but can't hurt to have better details 😁

The Vivo X70 Pro low light is pretty good but i think it's still lacking in some ways but i was surprise to see Vivo having photo quality that good from them. Nowadays the price difference you are paying for between iPhone and other Android phones are just for the OS and brand name. Camera wise, a lot of flagships are almost there, just different colours preference and minute details but you can always edit the photos. How versatile is the camera system is more important now. Next is for Android OEM to brush up on the video part and it'll be all good.

By the way, anyone having issue posting videos longer than 15s to Instagram story? The first 15s will go through but the remaining ones just fail then error and no way to post them up. I think it's happening to all my different Xiaomi phones in Android 12 - 12.5
