POCO X4 series

So far so good with this Poco X4 GT phone. I hope to use it for another year.
MTK Dimensity 8100 CPU is still one of the best mid-range CPU from MTK (some say slightly better than Dimensity 8200). No fight for SD7 Gen 2 but those phones are on the high side.

Still using this phone as the main phone now.

Just upgraded to Xiaomi HyperOS today.

I will probably continue using this phone for a bit longer. Let's see how long Xiaomi will support it. As of now, Poco X3/M3 family has been EOLed. Probbaly soon it will be the turn of X4/M4 family. But it is possible that Poco X4 GT may get slightly longer than the other Poco X4 models.

Just upgraded to Xiaomi HyperOS today.

I also have Poco X4 GT and was notified to update to HyperOS. Is it stable? Searched from google mentioned some apps didn't work after HyperOS update, so I kinda hold off this update for now.

No differences for my simple usages. All apps are working, even the side-loaded apps like Huawei Health (for my Huawei band).

What are the apps of concerns for you? You may want to list and I will see if I am using the app or not.

updated my dad's X4 GT to HyperOS, so far no major problems to speak of, I was surprised X4 GT is still as smooth after the update, F4 after HyperOS update can be laggy sometimes.

Still using the Poco X4 GT 8GB/256GB version as the main phone. It just got the Xiaomi HyperOS 1.0.8.0 update with Dec 2024 security updates.

I bought the Poco X6 Pro 12GB/512GB in the end of 2024 at S$333.12 as the replacement. Just lazy to migrate all the data over to the new phone.

Still using this phone as the main phone now that my wife took the Poco X6 Pro 12GB/512GB version as her secondary phone because of screen recorder function (her main phone is iPhone 14 512GB version).

Waiting for the price of Poco X7 Pro 12GB/512GB to drop to upgrade.

By next year lo, that's the usual cycle unless it changes.
Like the F series that was brought forward from the usual mid year to Apr25' for this year's launch.

Happy that X4 GT is still getting support and updates till now.
Sad that it's likely the end of the road for POCO products released in 2022.
