Just buy battery from shopee and replace yourself?Oops, my daughter's Poco X6 Pro got the battery swollen issue, bought during 11.11.2024 promotion. She started using the phone when she started her secondary school in Jan 2025.
I think this may have to do with her usage pattern -- playing mobile games while charging the phone, which is for sure not so good for the battery.
Just educated her not to do that with her next mobile phone.
Just quickly set up the Poco M7 4G as the temporary phone for her. Of course gaming performance is much slower when she checked the FPS for some more complicated scenes in the game "bloxd.io". But the phone is usable as she checked a few other apps.
She still likes the Poco X6 Pro phone and wants me to check the price for repair. I am not so sure if it is worth repairing the phone though since it is out of warranty. I will probably check with the official Xiaomi service centre at Funan over the weekend.
Or maybe Mister Mobile. Mister Mobile shows the battery replacement price at S$58. Not so sure if they use the original Xiaomi battery or not.

No one cares if original batt or not since can use can liao.
Else just go Xiaomi and ask them to replace the batt.
Last, even I don't game when I'm charging my phone though or can use a lower 67w or 45w charger to prevent overheating if need to use when charging.
Certain high performance games like genshin impact or wuthering waves, better don't play these games when charging.
The newer gen x8 or m8 phones now use silicon carbon batt that will bloat even easily.
Battery swollen quite common. I replaced quite a few of my older phones battery myself previously as I like to open up the phones to see what's inside. Next time bro instead of throwing away, maybe can give me to play play. HahaProbably not want to go this route.
Last time my Xiaomi Max 1 got batter swollen badly just after one year warranty. I just throw it away and banned Xiaomi for quite a few years. I went with Huawei, Oppo and later Realme at that time. Only after Realme shut down the global shop and reduced the presence then I switched to Poco in 2022.
Good input. Thanks. I will check with Mister Mobile Jurong Point Shop later this week.
My initial thought is just to throw the Poco X6 Pro phone away and buy Poco X8 Pro 8GB/256GB for her as she does not need 12GB/512GB. My wife also prefers this way as she is worried about battery explosion.
We throw away an old iPad 2 with very bad battery swollen issue as well last time.
No other battery swollen issues encountered, since I bought my first mobile phone from StarHub in year 2000.
