Finally went with this route and paid S$58 to replace the battery.

Let's see how the battery performs.
did u look at the log file to see how much battery capacity was left? before u changed the battery?

No.

Just did some data migration on 30 March 2026 and then shut it down and put it aside.

Then did the factory reset when sending to the phone to Mister Mobile Jurong Point shop to replace the battery recently.

How long do you still intend use x6 series for? For your children right?

Right now my daughter (Sec 2) is actully not actively using the Poco X6 Pro. She just uses it as a backup phone since she is lazy to transfer the data back from Poco M7 to Poco X6 Pro, even though she says the FPS of some games are very different.

Our main Poco phones -- I will say use them for about two to three years as the main phones and then as a backup if the security updates are still there. If the security updates are gone, maybe only use as test devices.

Me: Poco X7 Pro x 2, not yet using the Poco X8 Pro Max
My wife: iPhone 14 as main, Poco X6 Pro as backup. She may upgrade her iPhone later this year.
My daughter: Poco M7 as main, Poco X6 Pro (repared) as backup.

I never understand what is a ' backup' phone.
Does it lives unused in the drawer but constantly mirrors the active phone and ready to be use when the main phone is spoiled, lost or stolen?
Or it has its own Sim card and is used simultaneously.

or it lives mostly un-used, un backup in a drawer somewhere and then maybe once a week boot it up and then play a bit with it

Haha, different people use the word "backup" differently, as you mentioned.

For me I have two Poco X7 Pro phones. Main phone has the Singtel S$15.28 SIM (main line) and all the main apps installed like SingPass and banking. The secondary Poco X7 Pro has less apps installed but it can be used for testing. It has my secondary SIM (Starhub Prepaid S 5G plan, S$3 per month special Happy Prepaid Migration offer back in Nov 2025). In case main phone has no battery or Singtel has no signal, this may help.

I also use both phones for testing of extra SIMs (like M1 Maxx, Zym 4G with free 5G trial, Singtel hi! 4G and 5G, etc).

For my wife, her main phone is iPhone 14 with Singtel S$15.28 SIM. Then her secondary phone is Poco X6 Pro with eight S$8 4G SIM (effective price at S$4 per month due to S$88 one-for-one top-up offer) and main usage is screen recording for her TCM related study.

Basically nowadays mobile phone can be important. So it is good to have dual SIM cards. Using two phones may be even better.
