Auto update sucks, I am currently on 13.0.5, had a few issues that needed third party apps to fix (stuck in dark mode due to miui and default android conflicting settings), and a number of workarounds on intentional limitations added (not allowing both split screen and floating windows at the same time)
Found another problem, bluetooth keyboard default to numlock on, and my bluetooth keyboard doesn't have a numlock key, so now it's unusable

Anyone roaming on 5G plans with the 3 big telcos using Poco F3?? Can share your experience?

Just want to check if Poco F3 can connect and use the 5G SA (Stand-Alone) network that the big 3 has established thus far.

I'm using Singtel 5G NSA experience is good just wondering if it can be further improved by going to 5G SA with 5G plans from ST/SH/M1 with 5G SA.

This phone has 5G SA bands for local use?

Just did a quick check, N1/N78 are the key ones used by local telco. Both supported by Poco F3. I'm not connected to Vivifi 5G backend by SingTel, it's showing me option to turn on 5G SA although not getting SA as Vivifi is not open to use SingTel 5G SA yet.

The other band given to the telcos are N257 28GHz, those are mmWave 5G with high throughput but super limited coverage, unsure if they have even deployed it anywhere but phones sold here are mostly not equipped with mmWave anyway.

Phone is old liao... soon will have no updates liao

At first, monthly update, then 2 to 3 months 1 update, then 6 months 1 update, then will slowly progress to no update at all liao

F5 already at door steps liao.

F3 at its price... can't expect much.

I only hope security patches will continue for at least awhile more.

Hope they don't further restrict features, and maybe finally add multiple floating windows which the snapdragon 870 can easily handle
Don't you think the floating window is too small to have multiple of that on a phone screen? I only wish the floating window size can be freely adjusted instead of getting fixed

There are ways of getting desktop mode running on a bigger screen, even though the Poco F3 doesn't support HDMI out, one example is scrcpy

The one floating window limit is an artificial limitation, I do have other phone weaker than the Poco F3 that allows it, even though they are clearly not powerful enough, they have smaller screen too

Power user has uses of those kind of features that are being limited because of dumb reason like it's impractical or confusing for normie to figure it out

One example I still regularly uses is split screen with floating windows

Screenshot below shows you can still do it if you know how (1st picture), but it isn't officially supported by MIUI (2nd and 3rd picture)

I still haven't found a way of getting multiple window to work, if I try the same way as my other phone, it just close the existing window and open the new one and basically only allowing one floating window at a time

Hopefully it comes to MIUI for you.

I really don't see a need for myself using only on the phone screen, not mirroring it to any bigger display too.

I'm using TPG on the F3. can just dial out. You may need to enable volte to use the dialer.

at the phone app, type in *#*#86583#*#* to enable volte.
Saviour! Been on TPG for past 9months... and today i only unlock this feature.

confirm have if you are using MIUI.. always need do the app locking and enable autostart plus disable the battery saver from preventing the app from being killed off. You won't encounter this in other android phones.
Step-by-step guide: https://dontkillmyapp.com/xiaomi
Yes.. i encounter this too.. when play my game half way, i multi task and access other app, but when back to my game, it auto exit and have to restart again.

If someone uses the phone to make phonecalls they definitely will notice it more. But most people whom use this phone is for gaming and it is value for money
Yes.. this statement is valid to me. As i am using F3 just purely for gaming and nothing else. There is only game app in my phone, the rest of the app have been uninstalled.

Main Driver: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3
Gaming: Poco F3
Company phone: Iphone 12

Spare:
> Huawei Mate 30 Pro (overseas use for photo/video taking)
> Huawei Mate 10 (kept in box)
> Samsung S8 (Former Ex-company phone)
