They literally earn nothing from such an arrangement.

I wouldn't be so hasty as to liquidate my portfolio and to try to switch it to poems. If something were to cock up and I am out of the market the losses will be more than any fee savings.

It seems to be true btw, based on what I see from my poems app. Waiting for some hero to try that ancient looking platform.

Hopefully is for real. 0.10% fee is great
Temasek and moneyowl collaboration .
But isn’t this fund already available on Endowus ?
What about Temasek and moneyowl? Endowus charges fees while poems is zero-fee.

My team and I are delighted to connect with you again – now as MoneyOwl by Temasek Trust.

Many of you have been with us through the earlier years of MoneyOwl 1.0. We were then providing retail services and products, using a combination of technology and salaried advisers.

While we took great pride and joy in serving clients directly and individually, this did not turn out to be a commercially viable business model. Following a strategic review, on 31 August 2023, we announced the winding down of this business.

From the outpouring of well wishes we received – for which we were really grateful – it was clear that sticking to our values and providing comprehensive, competent and conflict-free advice resonated strongly with you.

It resonated with Temasek Trust, too.

As a philanthropic ecosystem builder for good, Temasek Trust felt that our work was aligned with their aim in uplifting communities through holistic and inclusive education, and advancing progress through capability building.

Temasek Trust decided to acquire us, and to repurpose MoneyOwl to serve community groups under a different model. You can read more about the acquisition here.

Today, I am proud to present to you the new MoneyOwl by Temasek Trust.

With our new identity, we are all about social impact at scale.

More so than ever, as MoneyOwl by Temasek Trust, we have no vested interest – only your best interest at heart.

Our purpose is to enable better financial security for all through life’s journey.

We aim to serve the many, and not the affluent few, through a new model of advice.
We’ve built upon the best-in-class content we have come to be known for – encompassing CPF, investments, insurance, general financial planning and estate planning – to develop innovative formats, including actual solution sets that you can implement.

By making these available online, we pioneer a new model of financial advice and social impact for Singapore: professional advice that is de-linked from one-on-one selling.

This is what you can expect from our new online advisory suite:

@blurpandasg2014 great info

Looks like it's really real this time.

"Access Amundi’s low-cost global indexed funds with no advisory or platform fees via POEMS – brought to you by MoneyOwl."

https://www.moneyowl.com.sg/owlinvest/

Seems like it's not re-packaged into a portfolio product to collect "advisory fees". They just simply put some public education thing on their website to teach people how to allocate the amundi funds.
We can ownself invest directly with Poems without going through MoneyOwl.

Is MoneyOwl doing this as a social cause?

She's quite a douchebag if POEMS is absolutely free; she got her original moneyowl clients to transfer to Ifast while now she's endorsing poems which has lower fee....

What the hell is going on? I don't know wtf she's doing.

Its good news and POEMS is in the market for long so don't think there is any major concern, probably POEMS able to get a good deal with Amundi even a fairly small/no rebate still better than losing the market share to Endowus.

I have been switched some funds to Endowus recently as they offer Institution class with less charge even with platform fee. Will hold for a while see what's the progress or restart a small sum with POEMS try this out.

Endowus still have the benefit of managing as a portfolio and do the re-balancing for you with a cost.

some of my relatives have been using poems to buy Lion Global All Seasons. Just nice that they are on the Poems platform, which means they can switch to accumulating this Amundi fund as well.

I'm sure that someone will be able to do some investigative work to find out whether there is any connection between Amundi and Temasek/GIC. Amundi is controlled by Credit Agricole which seems to be controlled by some French Banks ... wonder if Temasek/GIC are investors in any of these as well.

bcos ifast had been the backend of the original moneyowl and the current moneyowl is a new biz with new partner?

also not all platforms can sell dimensional funds that moneyowl had previously. i dont recall poems selling dimensional funds.

and i dont think her original client was locked into ifast at any point, they are free to switch away to other platforms be it Endowus, new moneyowl or any other platforms, so i dunno what's the issue.

From the app, can RSP the Amundi unit trusts. Also can choose cash, cpfoa and srs.

It technically should be 0% sales charges like all other unit trusts RSP. But it is showing 4.5% for RSP, likely not updated in their system yet. So, better wait for them to update their system first.

Or ownself manually buy first, it shows 0% charges.

non-profit u still need money to pay ur workers and the infra right...? and temasek trust is non-profit dosnt mean poems is okay with no profit right...?

Some guesses.
  • Poems getting very low trailer fees from the Amundi?
  • Or Poems know it'll attract many people will come to their platform by offering Amundi UT. Amundi UT is just a marketing tool for them?

I think Temasek Trust's MoneyOwl is just a facilitator to bring Amundi funds to poems. And Temasek Trust is funded primarily by Temasek and donors.

I assume that Temasek Trust approached multiple platforms, and some said NO for the reasons you have stated, but poems said Yes.

Poems may think the upside is better than the downside. Free media publicity for them, many new account signups - many will go to philips investors centres where the RM can sell them other products.

according to the amundi world fund propsectus, it has no trailer fees

and im not sure how effective amundi fund is as an marketing tool... except for those that are already investing in low cost UT, i doubt most ppl know what amundi is.
