25Th APRIL I mean, opps my bad

Yeah I went for the second interview too, what I realised is that for the second interview, all of the other candidates were of the same ethnicity as me. HAHAHAH it doesn't mean anything but it's smth I noticed.
Don't worry, the second interview was really similar to the first one. There wouldn't be any introduction before the interview, unlike the first one. Instead, once you arrive, will be directed straight for the interview. The waiting time is pretty long, so pray that you are the first few. A few similar questions asked, "why do you want to be a police" etc. I mentioned about crimewatch and they asked me about C. L. I. F. do familarise yourself with spf core values. Other candidates were asked about SG secure.

I'm currently waiting for my medical results, went for medial on 25Th APRIL. WISH ME LUCK!
I applied for DES is you're wondering.

What exactly are you asking?

If you obtain the HT ITE Sponsorship, and sign on, you will enter as a SGT(1) with a 10K sign on bonus. Progress wise, yes you will be faster than your peers with the same qualifications as you. However you may not necessarily progress faster than those with a A level/Diploma Cert.

I am unable to tell you what exactly is the GPA Requirement for the HT ITE Sponsorship, but most probably the selection interview plays an important part too. My suggestion is to do your best in NITEC, apply for the HT ITE Sponsorship and then also obtain the HT Diploma Sponsorship

No worries :)

I think reading this website will explain it clearer to you.

https://www.mha.gov.sg/join-mha/scholarships-awards/home-team-ite-sponsorship

If the link doesnt work, just google MHA Home Team Ite Sponsorship

The ITE and Diploma Sponsorship are not a package, they dont come together. But, if you get the ITE one, you can still apply for the Diploma Sponsorship if you like.

SPF just emailed me today.

They told me the bond would be for 5 years.

Have emailed them to double-check if its wrong information. Doesn't make sense for pre-enlistees to have a similar bond period as others.

Anyway, just thought i ought to update the thread.

Thank you all for your responses. Deeply appreciated!

Hi, nope it is not wrong. Firstly, you will be paid a salary much higher than what NSFs receive, secondly you receive several bonuses a year, thirdly you get A LOT more days of leave than what the NSFs do. Fourth.. you get sign on bonus of 10K/30K which for someone who hasnt served NS.. it is quite a considerable sum. These are the perks at the top of my head.. there are more...

The bond of 5 years will be split into two. The first 2.5 years -> training bond
2nd 2.5 years -> NS Liability.

Meaning to say if you break the bond(resign) within the first 2.5 years, you still have to serve your NS. PLUS pay a severance penalty.

If you resign during the 2nd half, whatever remaining length of your bond will be your NS liability.

I think i could've worded my message better.

I'm not a pre-enlistee. I ORD'ed some time ago.

When i said it doesn't make sense, i meant that people who sign after they ORD'ed should be given a shorter bond.

Hope that clears it up.

Thanks :)

I just went for my first interview yesterday, the competition is damn tight. I see alot of people having potential. Correct me if i am wrong, the process is} 1st interview} medical check up} 2nd interview then intake. If we get in or not based on first interview, the results is only out after 3-4month? Whole process take about 6-8month in total is it? Can someone kindly please advice me.

I applied DES on mid january, 1st interview which is the Selection Assessment on late january, 2nd interview on 1st week of march, medical checkup on 1st april (april fool lol) and just had a medical review few days ago which most likely bec im overweight/unfit and had some small medical thingy that they wan to understand more from me. Everyone different no guarantee how long the process will take. Talking about potential, it looked like i was the only one slightly overweight there and i failed my IPPT, the others looked pretty fit hahaha. So just do your best.

If the veto factor for you is medical, and there’s no change in the medical condition, I don’t see how you can possibly still get in unless they relax the medical criteria which is unlikely?

But usually if it medical issues and it serious, they will call you down for 2nd medical review right? It could also be some other facts why you were rejected after medical right? Like it does mean you were rejected after medical, the problem would definitely be on your medical. Am I right? Sorry for asking alot but i believe alot of ppl needing some advice on this.

yea could be other factors but nobody here I believe, can give the definite answer as to why you could get rejected after medical even if you fit af.

If its serious, i dont think you will even be called for 2nd medical review. I got called for 2nd review was because i had latent Tuberculosis when i was like sec 1 or pri 6 bec of my dad and im slightly overweight and failed ippt most likely. Hence, they want to make sure im ok and have no other problems to declare.

depends on their mandate? I don’t think this medical you are going is meant for the usual pre-enlistment checkup for NS where they eventually have to verify your medical condition and how serious it is to determine a PES.

If this is purely for pre-employment checkup and they found some veto factor from a medical POV, I don’t think they will bother calling you up for 2nd medical review, but they may be kind enough to inform you to seek specialist review if they discover some medical issue that you ought to have further checks on.

I don’t think it is publicly known how they make their determination, I.e. do they immediately outright reject if they see that you have a medical condition that is the veto factor, or you pass their medical criteria but they reject you on other grounds.

If it is the former, I don’t see how reapplying got any use given that your underlying medical issue is still there unless it can be treated (cured)

Does it mean if it medical issue, if we try to reapply after 6mth.. The system will auto reject us immediately?

Bro, i will not take the chances to assume. If you have the passion to become a police officer, just keep trying. Though i may warn you that the waiting process can go up to 8 months. If you're a pre-enlistee, 3-4 months.
