Hi all!

I applied for PO and I got shortlisted for SA this coming Friday. Any tips for a newbie like me? I'm nervous even though there are still days to pass. I have stage fright, i get nervous and I can't think well or talk normally during interviews. Any tips on that as well?

On a side note, is there any other females up for the SA this Friday as well?

Hi Melvyn_, may I know how is it that I have stage fright and get nervous that I cant be a PO? I dont feel that being nervous in an interview affects your ability as a PO. I know that the interview is as important as the physical test and stuffs, thats why I am asking for tips and help.

Not picking a fight, just stating how I feel. Being a PO have always been my dream and passion and I'll do whatever it takes to do it, even if it meant going through interviews multiple times.

No more direct asp in future for new SO. All new officers start as sgt regardless OT diploma or nitec holders. See the careers websai for more info

But non diploma and diploma holders sign-on bonus is still at 10k and 30k respectively.

I'm sure their pay grade is different too right?

Diploma and nitec will start off as sgt with diff pay grades. Diploma will be paid higher than nitec and have higher signing on bonus. (10K for nitec 30K for dip)

Degree holders start off as insp with or without honours and will be paid accordingly(with or w/o honours)

Yes. Removed. Enticing? There will be many insp in future. Who wil be doing the men job? And lesser rank to progress means u be stuck at certain ranks for long period of time. Go figure it out

Yea, lesser ranks. Wonder what will happen to current SSI. I don't think they really will promote so many JO to SO. Maybe it's just nice on the surface

Don't think so. SSI level are already doing SIO & DTL or TL jobs. So even they are promoted to Insp, they are still doing the same job. On another hand, fresh Insp only do job of IO & DTL under the mentor-ship from these SSI turn Insp.

SG always saywang on the surface & SAF MDES is a good example. Those WO turn Senior ME who are promoted to ME5 & ME6 are only holding School CO & SGT MAJ appointment that are for current WO.

True in term of career advancement. However if you look at other police organization in the world, currently we have the most rank structure in the world. To add on, we are going back to the past (SGT > SSGT >SI > INSP) base on the new rank structure.
