I just looked at HP Pavilion 15, and the specs look pretty awesome. Should I get FX553 or Pavilion 15? The price difference is quite minute but HP has better battery life, is lighter and has more RAM. Aesthetic wise, HP looks better too. Do Dota, CSGO, etc run well on HP?

Any suggestions?

Why is the FX553VDDM462T more expensive than FX553G7P?
Discrete graphic card? Better?

The laptop brochures that he posted are from the polytechnic laptop roadshows that have heavily discounted prices for some laptops like the FX553 G7P( poly roadshow) vs the IT show FX553.

In fact, the poly roadshow one is better with 4Gb DDR5 ram in the GPU
instead of 2Gb in the IT show one.

Thanks! If that's the case, HP pav 15 seems to be better on price compared to FX553 Show price.

Hmm... I did mention in my email asking about what software are used but the teacher didn't reply on that. But I've narrowed down to 3 laptops so far.

1. Zenbook UX310 (from the poly fair but apparently it uses TN panels)
2. Zenbook UX410UQ
3. Razer Blade (only on with a HQ CPU)

That being said I'm still waiting on the brochures for all the laptops to appear for IT show. I would probably choose other laptops if I didn't need the GPU.

I thought Zenbook is all IPS panels?

Isn't the GTX1050 a 2GB Graphics card? How come the brochure states that it has "4GB Dedicated graphics"? False advertising?

Okay guys...I think I am probably going to go with HP. Envy or Pavilion? I don't really know how to read the specifications LPDDR3 or DDR4-2133 but it looks like Pavilion has better specifications but I don't think that is possible cos Envy is more expensive.

For gaming + school purposes, which one is better? Can someone help me?

Before you buy the hp let me tell you I had a horrendous experience with HP 2 years ago. Bought a laptop from them and within 3 weeks it died. Service was slow and inefficient.

The model looks good on paper but it's the reliability that counts since it's gonna be used for 3-4 years. Just my two cents

They change la . They can install different graphics card ... cheaper dosen't mean worse specs. It's sold at poly roadshow so its affordable for students with specs based on how much u pay...

There's no such thing as a 1050 with 2GB Vram though, only the 1050ti has 4GB.
