16gb is more than enough. u just need a fast SSD PCIE on board (NOT SATA).

i don't think school will ask u to buy an i7 with 32gb ram inside.

even i work in IT security field i don't even go beyond 16gb.

I wanted to find out if it was ultimately possible. I did not ask about your opinion on poly studies.

hey guys, just an update. I've received my Dell Inspiron 7567 already and the screen isn't as bad as it seems lmao. Dell has this built in TrueColor software that isn't a gimmick. The colours are really improved. Viewing angles are bad but it's not as if I'll be moving around during a lecture or tutorial. battery life is amazing so I guess I'll be one of the only people without a charger in school.

If it is of any comfort, my niece purchase a Asus UX330 for her three year nursing course as well. She went with the i5, FHD IPS, and 512GB SSD variant from outside retailers priced at $1,348 inclusive of GST.

Hi anyone bought the fx553?
I just bought the fx553 and the colour of the screen is very dull, making a HD movie seem like a SD too. Even my old phone screen look so much nicer. Is it cause of matte display or did I get a faulty set?

My friend bought the FX553 and the colours are vibrant and accurate. Are you sure you are not viewing at a weird angle or having the screen facing the sun when you look at it? matte screens seem to have a problem with high surrounding light making the look dull.

I am viewing it straight with just normal lightning at home and the colour is really washed out. I work around it by adjusting the saturation under the intel graphic setting and it look much better but still not perfect. Does clean install of window help? Or it's the hardware problem?

I'm bought the hp pavilion 15 and collected yesterday within, my impression about this is the screen colour look so vibrant and clear, running on i7-7700HQ and gtx1050 with ssd 256 gb nvme and playing cs go and over watch give me 120-150 fps and 45-60 fps respective,so far no lag issue, Good for entry lvl gaming
If only hp school offer would offer gtx1050ti or gtx1060, I probably in a few months time would upgrade and extra 1 to hdd for school and important stuff and sdd for gaming

As long you take care of it, I don't think it is necessary

Hi guys,

Sorry for dig. I've been looking at the ASUS FX553 G7 available from AsiaPac for poly.

Just wondering whether anyone has tried to open up the bottom and add a second HDD? Based on my checks it appears that the laptop has an unused 2.5" HDD/SSD bay, on the assumption that the included 256 GB SSD is the M2 form factor.

As you can see from the photo, the SSD occupies the M.2 slot which leaves the SATA port empty for a 2.5" drive.
(This is my FX553 that I bought from poly)
