I really dislike herbal BKT.

Anyway, fun fact: malaysian version of our surnames usually have an H behind.

Like Yeoh, Teoh, Cheah etc

Recently YouTube keep spamming Malaysia claiming their bak kut teh as original since they declare it as some heritage cuisine... :ROFLMAO:

Then keep bashing Singapore one as white pepper soup...

They failed to understand it is just different style... Singapore already evolved to using just premium prime ribs, with white pepper and garlic, some chooses higher quality white pepper and garlic for the soup.

While theirs are more like a mix of many ingredients... with chinese herbs.
Malaysians are like Vegans.

Even without asking, they will tell you their food is the best. You talk about Mcdonald's, they will say their McD is the best. Any food you have, theirs is the best. Your mother's food is nice? No. Their JB mother's food is better.

hahaha

Malaysians have weak bodies because they are a third world country so they need a lot of herbs to strengthen. Their BKT is basically TCM

Black or white? Let the battle begins~
White have more general appeal I think.... I cannot imagine majority of international tourists enjoying the herbal type... but pepper and garlic taste is a lot easier to appeal to them.
