I agree wholly with you but am curious would like to know before 1960s/1970s/1980s females are not given the opportunity for an education and to work?
Totally agree with you! Made me think for 5000 years females were suppressed and made to serve the males? Only in the recent history of 50 years were females liberated?
I agree with point 2 and 3, recently I dream of my past life in the 1500s in Japan (during the Sengoku period lots of wars and instability), the average life expectancy was roughly 30 to 40 years.
- High infant mortality (lots of babies died young) dragged the average way down.
- If you survived childhood (say, past age 10), you had a decent chance of living into your 50s or even 60s — especially if you weren’t a soldier or killed by disease, famine, or war.
For example:
- Samurai and nobles sometimes lived longer because they had better food and safer lives (unless they died in battle).
- Peasants had rougher lives — hard labor, poor nutrition, and lots of disease.
- At birth: life expectancy ~30 years.
- If survived to adulthood (18+): living to 50–60 years old was achievable.
