Been mentioned before by me in the early pages of this thread already, that china wiki link is kinda outdated liao in actual fact. Read my responses below to understand why.
Porter International dispute
In summary,
Porter international is a ** copycat who took advantage by registering the authentic porter brandname all over the world, except japan.
First time disappointed at Taiwanese...
another article here, in traditional chinese, posted by a Taiwanese:

Don't have to be disappointed, the trademarks thingy is a well-known fact and has been covered earlier on in this thread too. But things have already changed since late 2007 last yr, now Yoshidakaban (Porter Tokyo's company in Japan) and Taiwan's Porter International are working together in collaboration already.
Feel free to read this post to see the official press release announcement. Porter International is now considered an official distributor for Yoshidakaban Porter merchandise in Taiwan liao, but I have to emphasize they still do their own bag releases though, released under their own 'Porter International' label.
i admit i'm bias against porter international after finding out how this brand came about..
Understandable lah, this issue did created quite an uproar last time among international fans of Porter Tokyo goods and merchandise outside of Japan. Now u know liao, dun have to be biased against them anymore. ^ ^
