$15K in my extremely humble opinion should only go out to 2 (max 3) counters. No point over-diversifying at this stage. feels like you are too excited to get in the market. cheers~
(5% of 15K=$750. is it worth your time/effort punting?)

How about for a quarter million?

quarter million is totally different from 15K :s13:
depends whether you are a short/mid/long term investor, you would allocate it differently.
in my personal opinion (only 2pennies worth), 250K could go out to 10-12 counters, preferably in different sectors (financial, consumer, transportation, reit, etc) depending on your risk appetite and preference.
for passive investors, it is BEST to go with Shiny's recommendations. Really no horse run. Reading his entire thread is totally worth anyone's time.

Keppel Corp vs Sembcorp Marine?
Sembcorp Marine doesnt move as much as Keppel Corp since beginning of the year...
Any reason why?
Assuming we ignore Keppel Land delisting issue.
