Just vested in cash rich Wee Hur after quite some time... 0.02 dividends next month. 0.03/0.04 dividend a year... that gives a yield of about 8% with lots of potential for growth...
what is the catalyst that will propel wee hur's growth? :s11:

I'm currently at 85% Equities and 15% in Cash. My equities are yielding only 3.8% while cash on fixed deposits are yielding 1%+, so overall I'm getting like 3%+ which is nothing impressive.

As the market goes higher, I do hope to gradually take some profits and reduce my equities positions. Once interest rates have improved, I would really like to pick up some bonds. Ideally I wanna go move to an allocation of something like 75% Equities 25% Bonds.

My biggest holdings now is Singtel, DBS, Singpost, Comfort, CMT, FCT and Keppel Corp.
Didn't plan for this but quite a well diversified group I think, all in different sector. Maybe will divest one of CMT/FCT.

Here's my planned portfolio (Planned - $15k Budget):
Oil & Gas: 15% - Sembcorp Marine & Keppel
REITs: 10% - Capitamall or Suntec or OUE (Only looking at retail & Office, OUE not looking good...)
Telcos: 30% - Collect Dividend
STI: 30%
Sheng Siong: 10% - Or other companies that are showing promising growth
"Short Sell Targeted Companies": 5% - eg Noble or Olam( When Muddy was attacking Olam)

What do you guys think?
I have sufficient coverage on insurance and emergency cash balance

I think for a 15k budget, it's spread too thin...

$15K in my extremely humble opinion should only go out to 2 (max 3) counters. No point over-diversifying at this stage. feels like you are too excited to get in the market. cheers~
(5% of 15K=$750. is it worth your time/effort punting?)

I would say dont touch SCM. Keppel currently at a high.
Reits: CMT 3 lots about 6k
Telco: 1 lot about 4k
Local bank: Can try when boat comes back. 5k
