most fears has already been factor in as reflected in some of the prices, besides most of the money has already flow out of sg since june and july...how much sell down are you still expecting ?
i believe only a recession can bring the price further down, if not the coming fed meeting will only see minor sell down.

i never mention now is buying time, though some counters have recover a fair bit, however i believe most have not go back to the peak price in Q2.
as advised by my lecturer, i will sit at the sidelines until this year is over.
certain stocks like starhub or SPH if go below 4, will load up 1 counter at a time as their secondary support level is below 4.

Actually the way that if we are going to play this portfolio starter pack based on 1 year rule, it isn't so much on growth stock but more on selecting a penny stock which can grow .5 cents or even 1 cent with bigger volume and viola

We have a Rojak combi of starter packs which deviates away from what TS really wanted.

usually such contests lead to rubbish portfolio. since no real money is involved, the "best" portfolio is potentially one which contains the most rubbish stocks.

haha u wait and see lor, see who is the winner. Maybe I will be the downright worst loser lei, who knows? Stock is unpredictable, nobody knows what is the Company's next move. Fundamentals and Technical analysis aside, sometimes it's the decisions of the Management. Just look at Mirach Energy, which is a 2 cents stock 5 years ago when it has a Rights Issue and even undersubscribed, now look at its price.

They say that those who cant die off, bounce back even stronger, or something like that.

Not trying to be sarcastic, just means that by trying to get bigger gains anyone can just pick a super penny stock. When the risk goes up, will you be able to sleep well at night and don't look at it for a year.

If the portfolio works, it should be able to withstand volatility even without selling for 2-3 yrs.

If you have picked Noble, golden agri from last Aug, does that mean only you are sensible and if I have picked a penny counter, I would have been insensible?

If you want to have a friendly contest to guide newbie, why not let him be exposed to all kinds of stocks in the market? I pick hankore because I see value in that company, there are further upside due to many factors. I can gladly park my money in there and let it grow for a year. In fact, I really did and I am still sleeping well at night because I have faith in my analysis and the company.

You have your own investment theory, methods and beliefs and I have my own. I find it offending when you just dismiss my pick as insensible just because it is a micropenny without even trying to find out the reasons or analysis on why I pick my stocks.

4) underdog among 3 telcos
5) stable dividend growth.
