One question, will I get video output if I connect a HDMI cable from the cam to a LED screen without using playback function?

Might intend to use with a quadrotor & FPV.

Sorry Typo error.

For the wifi version, it does not support video output + recording simultaneously.
If you are mainly using for streaming with HDMI then it should be ok.

For the old model/non wifi,
We do have the AV cable in Micro USB.
The micro USB has 4 cable output, 2 for power and 2 for AV.
You can use AV cable for streaming and record at the same time.

Of course the video recorded come with sound.
Usually we use software to edit out the sound and insert music.

Just got it today at challenger.

Snap a few pictures. any idea why it look so grainy and the color is slightly distorted.

I tried setting to the highest resolution but the end result still the same.

could it be some settings i set wrongly?

I'm still deciding whether to get this or GoPro though currently GoPro have to wait until end Oct for stock to arrive.

Hi Ben

you cant compare our camera to gopro head to head.
gopro has the ability to achieve higher frame rate and record video quality above 1080p.

If you are just happy to record at 1080p 30f/s then POSH action camera are equally as good as gopro.

I believe you are waiting for gopro 4.
Gopro 4 prices are much higher than our action camera.

So it all depend how is your budget, your purpose need for the camera.

The SJ4000 are using 2m pixel CMOS.
12MP are enhanced.
Thus its picture quality cannot be compared to digital camera.

the products focus is to produce good video quality.

I am shopping for 2 cams for my kids' project work.
I am the kind of guy who go for quality and willing to pay for it!

Thank you for your feedback.
We are still waiting for sample for the Sony 14MP cmos sensor then we need to test the video quality.
We also still have many tasks ahead on solving the waterproof casing, apps for the wifi.
Thus it may takes time for us develop this.

I would be launching polaroid cube action camera too before Christmas.
we have loaded order to the factory and waiting for supply.

Recently mounted the POSH SJ4000W to my new drone.
The drone has default AEE camera using Ambarella solution.
I attach POSH Camera at the back of the drone using double side tape.
Since there is no damper or stabilizer, the vibration from the drone is quite strong which seem to cause some colour distortion.

Anyway just to share this video.

Ignore the clock in the camera as they are not adjusted and we use many cameras in this shooting.

My Question is what's the latest firmware and how and where we could
download and update the firmware of POSH SJ4000


Also I notice when there's strong light the POSH SJ4000 has this halo glare effect kinda good for some cinematic but not good if you just want some
clean image of video. Hope this could be corrected in the future models.


Also the ismartDV for IOS seems you are anot allowed to download photo or video to your iphone or iPad will POSH be releasing updated iSmartDV apps to able to save photos or video to iphone or ipad?

Dear Albert,

I have replied you on facebook and PM.
Our wifi version has true wide angle which cause cinematic effect.
Our old model non wifi do not have this, as viewing angle is not 170 Degree.
I am sorry that we were not inform by the factory even though they say 170 degree. This model came out form the same factory as our competitor.

Since our volume is big we control our own production and quality.
We are lucky that we build our own brand from the start.
There are too many SJCAM copy in the market, they are produce by different factories and labelling it as SJCAM. It is totally out of control.

At this moment, there are no new firmware, if there is, we will update it on the facebook and forum.

On the apps for IOS, as explain on the facebook, Yes you can save them then play back, you cant do direct streaming.
