omg, theres another model called Jet S?
how many different model/version does the SJ4000 have ?

recently im on FB and have ask one of the seller there,

Me:"so POSH is not under SJCAM?
*** Gadgets: For that, you will have to check with the company themselves, as I can't be certain where they get their cameras from. Cheers bro"

i know SJCAM is the real thing, so how many diff SJ4000 are there

hi there

Our SJ4000 came from the same factory as SJCAM.
In fact SJcam was created later than our brands.

Now we are no longer following their model.
We are creating new models with our own R&D partner and subcon.

The SJCAM supports or the factory known as SJHF is not giving good support.
They are ignoring spore market.
If you see the other distributor, they just cancel the pre order of SJ5000+ citing unstable products as a reason but the actual reason we were told by them were otherwise.

Cheers

Bought the POSH sj4000w & gopro hero recently. The buttons for the SJ4000w underwater case is so stiff as compared to the hero. Can improve in the next model? You guys can definitely can modify this right?

hi

we will look into this.

Thanks

Will this new Jet S cam be compatible with Go Pro mounts like SJ4000?

Since this products are OEM by big brands on other countries and to avoid legal issue with gopro, they cant make this similar to gopro.
Jet S waterproof casing will be using 3.5mm screw and SJ4000 or gopro will be using 4mm screw. Sorry I cant recall the exact screw thickness but the diff is 0.5mm.

in order for Jet S to use the accessories with SJ4000 or gopro, we just need to file the water proof casing leg/screw holes to be able to accept 4mm wide screw.

hi

we will look into this.

Thanks

We have improved the button in our upcoming new model W9 from Feb 2015
We are in the mids of making new MOLD and enlarge the button but expecting ready in April 2014. This would be total make over of the camera design.

any update on the ETA for Jet S?

Hi Wai

Just got an update finally it is our turn for production.
Due to overwhelming demand from overseas.
Hope to complete in 2 weeks and air out asap.
Another piece of good news amazon is selling super high retail price as they want to match gopro hero 4 silver pricing.
It would be a steal for Singapore customer.

I have opened a pre-order.

Cheers

Thank you for the feedback.

The products has gone through rigorous testing before production.
I tested for 3 months before the mass shipment arrive yesterday. :D
Further to this, the company we collaborate is much older and established than SJCAM. They oem for big brands such as Rollei in Germany.
The company has been working with Ambarella chipset for many years and unlike SJ5000+ is the new or first model of Ambarella and not surprised that they face many technical issue.

To make the matter worse, there may be any local support for SJCAM anymore as they have decided to do B2C business concept.
We have since stop working with the factory after our wifi model itself.
if you look at the other importer, they have taken up new brands and I did not see much promotion on SJ5000 ort SJ5000+
I also have seen too many imitation or copy of SJCAM which you cant really tell the difference.

POSH Action Camera is here for long term. Being sold in retail channel like Challenger, with 100% warranty support, it gives local consumer a peace of mind. Knowing they know where to go if they face problem on the camera. Usually we do 1 to 1 replacement for damage camera.
Our prices would be slightly higher than SJ5000+ as we have more operation cost. Our Jet S also equipped with 2" and remote thus our cost is higher.

Just to side track for the benefit of user here:
SJHF is the actual factory of the initial production of SJ4000 and SJcam was the trader or distributor which they brand it under SJCAM. Now there is dispute between SJCAM and SJHF and SJHF decided to do direct sales and leave behind their partners and rob the brands SJCAM from them.

Glad that u've high confidence level in ur product and I look forward to seeing reviews from experts or any videos that u've that can show the cam performing in very scenarios. I'm a fan of Techmoan.com as the reviewer is detailed in checking out the performance of action cams.

Btw, the SJ5000 seems to hve two key issues:
1. firmware
2. Battery life

Ambarella A7 has many series.
They should be using A7L series too and this is chipset has better battery life compare to the others.

it could be the heat from the PCBA that degrade the battery life.
running full HD 60 frame will cause intensive heat.
Thus the design of the frame of the camera is very important to dissipate the heat fast. Most company will use metal frame for the camera.
SJ4000 is using all plastic frame but I am not sure the SJ5000 series.

Further to this they have limitation on the battery size as they are using the same mold.

As for firmware issue, give them sometime as they are new to this chipset.
All along they only work on Novatek and novatek seem to lag behind in technology even compare to sunplus.

Sunplus already launch 1080p 60f/s chipset and we could be putting this into our next successor after W9.

Will try to share more Jet S video. ;)
I also like techmoan review.
Thought of sending my camera to him for review. :D

Found this clip at youtube.
Video was shoot using the older model of Jet S.
i think it is Jet X using Ambarella A5S50 and 14MP CMOS.
POSH Jet S is A7L and 16MP CMOS thus expect better quality than this.

Thanks for the info. Just looking at the SJ5000 as a reference to ur Jet S and wondering wat will differentiate bet the two.

Action cams have a set of important criterias that set them apart from normal cams and firmware stability and battery life are part of it.

I like Techmoan reviews as he seems to specialize in reviewing cams from china and does not shy from stating the facts as it is...good or bad. I take his reviews and other reviewers into account as a whole to help me understand the product price/performance of a product.

Reviewers can make/break a product; thus, if u're confident of ur product, it's good if u can get reviewers to evaluate ur product. If u look at Techmoan's reviews, he has a set of criteria that he evaluate all cams on. Eg, transitioning from bright to dark, night driving, video quality/FPS, direct sunlight performance, etc, etc; all so call real world scenarios that we encountered day to day. SJ1000 and Mobius in the early days got his endorsement for being tops among the budget cams and this was proven by hobby enthusiasts that use the products.
