managed to pickup a 7950 and everything works alright, yet to test it. but i have a problem. it blocked up both slots for where the my sound card goes, now using onboard sound card, is there any way i can still fit my sound card in?

wasn't expecting the gfx card to be so freakin huge.

i have a 2nd slot for another gfx, which will allow the sound card to be fitted in nicely but i think that's the secondary one, which is only usable IF i install 2 gfx cards.
If your mobo has another PCI-E X16 slot and your sound card uses a PCI-E X1 interface, your sound card can be used in the second PCI-E X16 slot. PCI-E techonology are both forwards and backwards compatible, PCI-E X16 slot can be used for any devices/cards with a PCI-E interface, not die die only GPU can use the PCI-E X16 slot.

What mobo are you using, though?

Can put your soundcard in the white PCI-E X16 slot. It is possible to put a PCI-E X1 device/card into a PCI-E X16 slot, PCI-E techonology is designed to make such a thing possible, you put sound card into the PCI-E X16 slot, won't have problem one.
