No Camera Handphone is allowed. You are not required to bring along your duffle bag / field pack complete with the SAF issued items given during BMT on your 1st day . You are expected to stay in.


Anyone know what I should bring in during the first day? The instructions seems so misleading.

tank don't carry many soldiers inside, ok la our leopard is called a tank

the BXII is a armoured personal carrier APC or armoured fighting vehicle AFV, same thing. inside carry a section of soldiers.

section numbers not as big as bmt. PC will command the first BX, PS the 2nd one. the 3rd one can be any sect comm

push-ups as punishment are useless because you guys are already expected to be so fit. instead taking away your free time will be a more effective punishment. it's true.

I'm not from GBAD so cant comment on this much, but being an Air Force tech myself and seeing the GBAD train, they pretty much have tons of physical training everyday. Saw them wearing FBO + Cameo on to train at times as well.

They also learn how to operate those heavy machinery and guns too.

AFAIK, they are stay in. (We are giving up our bunks to those new peeps coming in on Mon, which I suppose its you guys)

GBAD troops don't stay in AFTC for course. unsure about GBAD OCTs though.

What are the differences and what will an AFV OPR be driving?

bronco / bx or bx2 duno wat 41 is driving now

tank the gun very big 1 120mm, 4 ppl inside only.. and wont dismount.. unless vehicle breakdown or dmg, bx gun small 25-30mm only and carry more ppl and dismount for ******* for the trooper

Can i bring in iphone + charger? The PDF doc ask me bring all BMTC issued items, means everything I get when I was in Tekong from Day 1??

Yeah all the phones can be brought in now. Bring everything issued to you, but green singlet can don't bring already. Green admin bring a few sets, same with your black PT shorts.

Been here for 1 month + Here's what we have been doing.

5.30 Wake up
5.45 5BX
6.00 Breakfast
6.30 Area Cleaning
7.25 First Parade
7.45 Your instructor will come get you (Attendance taking)
8 - 5.30 Lessons all the way in air con room (There will be exams as well almost every week and you MUST pass or get recourse to other army side vocation. Re-test will be allow once only I think and you will get to meet your commander for an interview session)
4 - 6 PT session (Usually its Mon, Wed, Fri)
7 - 10.30/11.30 (Admin time usually, private above lights out timing will be 11.30 if you're stay in)

**Lunch and dinner will usually be at 12pm and 5.30pm

My lessons at AFTC will last till nov 6, which is like around 6.4 weeks (Excluding my block leave and 1 week stay at Sembawang for my POC) After which they will send us to different air base to further our training on the specific train types.

ILBV and Helmet all that kind of things are not required.

and the lessons are roughly about what? maintence of the aircarriers?

Lessons in AFTC are the basics only. Very theory type of stuff, like the parts function. And its pretty dull and boring. Depending on your specialization, you will learn different stuff (Like I'm in Electrical Instrument department, while some others do different stuff, there's quite a few departments)

Stay in or not I'm not sure. Since we are moving out on Monday, and was told a new batch is coming in. Whether is it you guys or not, will have to see.

GBAD stayed in during my batch here though since I always see them around late at night and early in the morning coming down from the barracks. OCT or not I'm unsure. Didnt really go take note.

haha depend on your superiors actually. I think in training courses they tend to place more emphasis on togetherness. after that usually very individualistic liao. unless in extreme cases la.
