My portable rig. Time to concentrate on my desktop rig.

602. I haven't heard a 601, so I do wonder how it sounds. But I had the opportunity to get this baby at a nice price. So I didn't really hesitate coz I actually audition the 602 in Jaben about a month ago.

Though warm sounding, the clarity and details are still present. And I do like the musicality sound that it produces. Great buy that concludes my portable journey. Nice!

Especially when it also functions as an USB DAC. nice. Its DAC has been compared to that on the iBasso D10 and IIRC, of equal or slightly better performance.

I know the 602 can function as a DAC but I have the CEntrance DACport doing that job to drive my HD600 from my laptop. Yet to use the 602 as a DAC so can't comment how it sounds.

But I know for sure that the DACport does an amazing job while I'm saving up for a Burson desktop amp. It drives the HD600 very very decently.

Well, I did had to plan my resources for the setup. Had to sell my iQube to raise enough working funds.

I have not tried driving my HD600 with the 602 DAC, but I suspect it will not do a good job. Any, I have plans for the DACport to be my dedicated DAC feeding the Burson HA-160 if I do not get the amp with DAC version. Otherwise, I'll get the HA-160D and sell the DACport in the future.

waoh, Ha-160D? now desktop/home rig is one pit I will never wanna jump into...

Well, I realized that you can have a JH16 ($2,000) with iMod ($800?) and LOD ($150), and you still cannot match a HA-160D ($1,500) and HD600 ($500).

Portable gears can't match desktop rig for the price and performance ratio. So I decided to stop my portable chase and set up a home rig for critical listening.

1964-Q + HM-602 is definitely considered high end.

Thing is 1964-Q and 602 might not go well together, considering that 602 is a very warm DAP. I'll be happy to meet up with you to let you audition the 602 with your 1964-Q. Just load your songs onto a SD card before meeting up.

Thanks for the offer 1964-Q is not really warm so that may not be too much of a problem. will still audition to find out if they have good synergy.
