yah guan22, also by Westone.I do not mean ES2 beats ES5, but I'm not used to the tight bass that's why I need something to improve the clarity.

Now that we're on the topic of ES5, I'm planning to get either the JH13/16 or the ES5. Any advice regarding

- the three IEMs
- where to audition demo units
- which audiologist
- where to make the deal
- amps/dacs/cables/any-other-make-my-wallet-cry mods

My first customs, so pardon my noobness thanks.

jh13/16 jaben can audition, ES5 iirc no demo units

i believe most of us go to Digisound for ear impresions

for jh13/16, u can either buy from jaben or buy direct from jha website...for ES5, u can call up thinking group singapore to enquire

Well, I use alcohol wipes to clean them. Sometimes if no alcohol wipes, I just use wet tissue to wipe them down. Make sure you face the bores downwards though so as to make sure the liquids (alcohol or water) doesnt get into the tubes.

but is there any difference in these two?

Wet tissue is plain wet but alcohol wipes are sort of antiseptic that gives it a sort of greater level of hygiene. I do wipe my customs occasionally with antibacterial wipes that come quite cheap at places like Watsons. More often, I clean it or brush it with the ear loop that comes with most customs.

the Watson staff told me that using alcohol swap on plastic material would dissolve in it and results in a thinner material.

thanks alamakazam.
but how do you guys manage to clear the wax in the bores? i am using the ear digger with the swap wrapped around it and i accidentally widened the bore due to the thickness of the swap.:s31:
sorry if i sounded dumb. :s22:

i am actually looking at this http://www.westone.com/catalog/audiologist-s-choice-audio-wipes
and wondering what's the difference between pop-up canister (160 wipes) and single packaged wipes (100/box).i mean shouldn't the latter cost cheaper??

hello jazzman80,

How's your Sennheiser HD595 coming along? :s13:

Did you call us earlier on regarding the swipes? I believed i was the one that picked up your call :o

I would usually try to keep my ears super clean by using Audiclean ( solution for the ears, there's a MO going on "Mass order forums" ) and keep them clear via digging every now and there.

it's so much easier to maintain the ears rather than the earphones. In a case where i have to maintain the bores of the customs, i'm applying the same method as you but my bore is pretty huge though :o

Cheers,
brian

yo.so this is your usernick, you remembered which brand and model of cans i bought sia.

seriously, i am not using the HD598.but my mum is,with her fav songs on iPad. lol
most of the time,i stick with my ES5 as i still love the sound on a pair of customs rather than open cans.

yes i was the one who made that phone call.

never tried an MO. would look into it as it looks quite complex to me (T&C & etc..) lol. thanks

everyday,i just dry my outer ears with a towel after each shower.
and then, a stick of cotton bud.

anyway,is there a difference between the diff size of the bores?

Oops sorry i meant the HD598 :x

Nopes, this is my work account to be exact. :s22:

You should really try getting audiclean to clear your ears now and then or if you are serious enough, i believe an audiologist can clean your ears for you as well. ( never tried it though )

I personally wouldn't recommend using cotton buds as there are studies which show that it would actually push the dirt in your ears in much deeper.

difference in the different size of bores? do you mean the diameter of your bores or the number of bores drilled?
