Recently my pc unable to show display from my GPU unless I force close my switch and on back and it will display as per normal throughout the day until the next day same issue happen. This issue only happen on the first power on of the day. First power on of the day, no display from gpu, tried plugging into the mobo got display.

On the first day I purchase I had a minor issue with the gpu, everything is normal just that I’ve some minor fps lag sometime on different day first power on of the day. Usually the fps fix by restarting the com. I thought it was normal so I don’t bother much until this recent problem starts to came in.

Im using asus strix gtx 960 4gb for 1.8 years already.

Do a GPU test, and if possible try on separate system or PSU. I had the same symptoms but it was confirmed a dying PSU for me as I did the several tests and the PSU finally gave up and my system totally cannot start. For yours, probably, is at the initial stage. It will get serious later. But do try the several test before confirming the main issue.

You know what I’m trying to say right?

First power on of the day -> no display from GPU -> plug in mobo got display

-> shut down com off my switch -> plug back to gpu -> display come back

Next day same cycle happen. This issue come for about 4 days le

So the probability of psu issue is high?

How old is the PSU?

The symptoms you mentioned are likely due to bloated/leaked filter capacitor inside the PSU, right at the soldering point of various cable sets.

The capacitors are not taking enough charge or discharge enough current to turn on the N channel mosfets on the motherboard. Subsequent charge and discharge on the second power_on does give it a much needed push to turn on the mosfets.

Try using a known good PSU to narrow the problem, failed capacitor on the motherboard will show the same symptoms, run a visual check on all the capacitors on the motherboard as well.

I use corsair rm650x, recently got some power trip on my house .
I use about 8month only

Previously the exact same power supply unable to power on, u may check on my previous thread that I’ve post on Jan/feb.
This one just rma-ed on feb but haven got to use the rma-ed one.

Saw your previous thread in Jan.

PSU failed within warranty period is nothing new, the symptoms you mentioned are typical capacitors issue although we can't rule out other possibilities without physical examination of the system.

Swap out the existing PSU and try using the RMAed PSU.

Hey guys, I had tried my gpu on my fren system. On the next day first power on of the day. Everything works fine.. so the conclusion is my psu causing the issue?

So obvious, time to switch brand for your PSU. Sell RMA unit after return. Likely capacitor unable to charge up in cold state.

Hey guys, i've another quesiton.. idw to create additional thread to keep filtering other threads.. Can anybody suggest me what good power supply to use? With local warranty instead of international warranty. if possible don't want distributor from banleong as their working hours is only 6 hours tried to rma from them they off work quite early also 5pm close but 4.40pm office light off already.. Which type of power supply is easier for cable managing semi modular or fully modular is easier?
