Good to test every 6 months, especially if the UPS has seen action.
Most battery packs need replacement at the 24-36 month mark regardless.
If you put it off too long, they might swell, be unremovable and might become a fire risk.

No need to buy from the manufacturer btw lol. Just equivalents from Unicell.

I used to have a ups, and my electricity bill shot up. After 3 years, I turned it off totally. Did a test to deplete the battery, less than 5 min, it was totally drained. It was connected to my WRT54G router and a 16 port linksys switch. Took out the battery, but kept the chassis in storage in case I plan to use again.
