Hi was originally gonna pull the trigger on the Prism Q86 Ultra but reading thru this thread on Prism seems to indicate it might not be the best choice. Not looking to spend more than $3k on the TV ideally as big as possible, currently using a 70" LG. I am clueless about the diff on OLED, QLED, Mini LED, IPS, etc. One of the issues of my current TV is that it is not a Google TV and apps dun work as well or may not even have it avail e.g. Starhub TV+ and it does not have Chrome Cast feature that is one of the factors to look at Prism. TV usage predominately for Football, SVOD, Youtube and light gaming on PS. Would LG and Samsung have similarly priced TVs and how would casting work as i believe LG is using WebOS and Samsung Tizen.

Thank you in adv. :)

Can consider tcl, got google tv and chromecast. After sales is a problem for cheap tv though so beware.

also, important to consider if your tv placement is near window or if you going to watch tv with a lot of light - during daytime etc as it requires brighter tv.

mini led / oled if contrast and black level is important to you. If you’re ok with black looking greyish then can don’t care about it.

Thank you. Yeah the TV is beside the window so i presume there will be some light/glare coming through. is there a range of nits that is within the ok range that i should be looking at?

Imo at least 500 nits SDR, don’t get scam by HDR brightness. The likes of prism can say 1000 nits but it’s actually hdr and not sdr. Hdr is the small part of the screen, brightness of the sun / explosion etc in the movie.

Also, angle is important as VA panel has better contrast but limited viewing angle. If you watch directly in front of tv then better to get va panel.

Thank you. I went for an LG Mini LED TV instead as the colours and brightness was pretty good but still cheaper than OLED.

Just realised Prism+ released a U65 miniled TV. Any experience with that so far?
What we do know is that their new miniled U series in ALL sizes are equipped with IPS panels instead of VA (confirmed by their rep), so blooming, contrast ratio and color volume is likely to be an issue as we've seen in existing TV's reviews from different manufacturers with the same MiniLED and IPS panel setup.

Vincent from HDTVTest explains this in more detail in this LG QNED TV (MiniLED + IPS panel) video from 18:47 onwards.

Unfortunately for Prism+ unless they are available globally where the reputable reviewers like RTINGs and HDTVTest (use of actual tools with proper test methodologies) are located, how they perform compared among other TVs is anyone's guess.

Thanks for explaining! No wonder it was so cheap compared to even the budget brands.

looking for a 43" inch budget tv for my room. currently the prism q43qe is having sales at 459 but i see prism usually alot of bad reviews and it is not recommended.

if i compare p1 43" at 379 and the prism above at 459 does the prism really worth the extra 80?

PRISM+ air-con ad featuring Xiaxue deemed misleading by advertising standards watchdog

The advertisement claimed that using PRISM+'s air-con model was the "best tip" to "save Earth", said the Advertising Standards Authority of Singapore.

So far OK leh. Their CS is very responsive. They sell at courts now already.

Depend, mini led should be better but you can see review where non mini led(sony) can beat mini led (tcl, hisense etc)

I'm worry about dead pixel more also.. ha
How I wish my TV to be replace in 2024.. more than 10years still strong as cow.
