I have spoken to the PIC of Prism of E55 for the IPS Panel issue

The backlight glow or slight bleed is unavoidable. Here is they mentioned:

Quote:
"The issue you are facing is consider as "slight backlight bleed or IPS glow effects". On our end we are unable to offer a solution to this matter as we do not have local dimming function at this price point."

In the meantime you can read the following article for better understanding of IPS panel "Pros & Cons"

https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/ips-led-vs-va-lcd
https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/picture-quality/local-dimming

Unquote.

In additional, there is no control of brightness for Youtube, Netflix and Prime Video. Perhaps the limitation of this basic smart TV.

For my own opinion, you are paying low price for this smart TV. I think it is good enough for watching TV (if you don't bother about the lights)

also take a look at the following which i recorded can see

https://youtu.be/j4nFRnJeFAU

I sent an email out to them and got a reply claiming that this is normal...seriously... any fellow owner having the same issue with me here?

After a few email exchange, their tech support agree to exchange another set for me. Let see how things goes. Hope to get a good set as my fren's set did not have such light bleeding issue.

jus to update. i got my replacement set today. there is still some slight faint backlight bleeding but this set is way way better than the previous. will test it out later when the night is darker.

I also agree with you.

Sadly their QC isn't great, my 1st set the backlight bleeding is horrible, even setting the backlight to "0" is still visible, whole of the top portion can see a 1-2" thick lighted border. Current replacement set still having some backlight bleeding but is not as bad as the 1st set.

This TV is simply not for ppl who are particular about backlight bleeding and not suitable for ppl who watch in a dark room due to the backlight bleeding. If u want a 100% backlight bleeding free, suggest to look at more reputable and established brands, even the TCL and Hisense i see do not suffer such issue.

Anyone having problems connecting to their WIFI?

I was told it only connects to 2.4 GHz instead of 5 GHz. Turned off the band steering on my wifi to have a dedicated SSID for 2.4 GHz but still same issue though...

Thanks, managed to figure it out using 2.4 GHz. May consider running a wired connection at some point...

I like the fake review in this thread and aggressive advertisement everywhere on social media. Rather buy a xiaomi smart TV for around the same price.

Is there any way we can control the pic profile for youtube and netflix, checked with cso and they just gave some generic response, that pushes it to the developer. The contrast is too high with those apps.
