Just bought this 'ball' on Sunday. After installing, it caused frequent system to restart (blue screen) with a error message of

"Stop code: DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL
What failed: D rtwlanu.sys"

Can anyone advise how to overcome this?

Mine is Windows Home 10 OEM 64 bits.

Driver installed from the official webpage in Singapore:

A) DWA-192_V1.04b10 and then
B) DWA-192_A1_DRIVERS_v1.05B03_WIN

Try uninstalling the driver and let windows auto configure the device. Sometimes the OEM drivers are worse than the built in drivers,

Mmm.... I rolled back to a previous working window version update and use back my old DWA 140, everything is working fine.

Do I need to uninstall the driver for DWA 140?

I did not install this driver, it is from Windows 10 itself. How to remove it if need?

You should not need to remove the drivers for your old WiFi card. Windows will configure the new WiFi device driver as a separate device. If u want to remove it should be under device manager and in the network adapters section

Okay, will try to disable it (old wifi driver) first before plucking in the new device to try.

rtwlanu.sys is a Realtek driver
Pls remove it

@TanBoonHwa
-remove or unplug your dwa-192

-follow this guide to remove the faulty driver :
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/install/using-device-manager-to-uninstall-devices-and-driver-packages

-Then reboot the pc

-Next run the setup.exe from the CD that comes with it

-Plug in you dwa-192
(make sure its a USB3 port. Normally its the blue color one)

Sent from Samsung SM-G930F using GAGT

During my initial installation, the system do not permit me to run the setup from the CD that come with the adaptor.

I have downloaded the setup (DWA-192_V1.04b10) for this device from D-Link web page

Please clarify whether should I remove or not to remove the file rtwlanu.sys?

:s11:
You mentioned that you have a older D-link USB WiFi adapter. Windows likely used that driver for your new USB WiFi adapter causing the blue screen. Just follow tungsten2 instructions on removing the driver(s) and reinstalling them. If you can't use the CD then the driver downloaded from the website should be fine.

The driver for this old wifi adaptor (DWA 140) is from Windows 10 itself, I did not install it at all.

Can I just disable it instead and try installing the new driver which I have downloaded?

This looks like a driver bug.

From this link below, problems already reported since 2016.
If manufacturer don't come out with a fix, just suck thumb and change another adapter.

Found from internet
The driver (rtwlanu.sys) gives a hint that it is a USB2 device.
So you might want to try plug the device to a usb2 port and see if problem persist.

Hi all,

Update on the installation of this adaptor;
a) File D_rtwlanu.sys removed from system32\driver
b) PC reboot and the file is no longer there
c) Plug in the adaptor DWA 192, no response from PC
d) Open network adaptor using device manager and found this device with a warning sign.
e) Under its properties, device driver was missing.
f) Remove the device and install the driver downloaded from web page.
g) Follow the instruction and the adaptor was working.
h) But after about 20 minute, stop code reappeared again
