Its been awhile that i have left Project GeneXis. And it is time for me to embark on a new project. Project Dragon Spirit.

This project is meant to showcase a MSI gaming theme by doing a case mod on the Xigmatek Spirit Chassis. Nothing artsy fartsy, just a simple mod and deco to it.

Before i begin i would like to credit it to MSI, Corbell and Hachi Square in helping out with Project Dragon Spirit.

Things that i will be needing.

1. Red & White LED strips
2. RGB Controller
3. Xigmatek Spirit Chassis
4. Red Plasti Dip

First thing about the Xigmatek Spirit, is the extremely small see through acrylic window. Its too small to see anything. So initially my plan was to cut and widen up the side panel. But after much consideration, instead of cutting the side panel up. I have decided to ditch the entire side panel and go for a full acrylic side panel instead. And by doing that i would include the laser engraved insignia of MSI dragon at the left side of the acrylic.

Xigmatek Spirit

So i went off to find a suitable vendor on how to help design a laser engraved acrylic. And i found Hachi Square. They are located at Blk 132 Jalan Bukit Merah #01-1334.

Went there and handover the insignia and this is what they come out with.

Test piece with LED

I was pretty satisfied with the final piece and its awesome on the way how it turns out to be.

Here is a glimpse on the final piece.

Now it is time to go shopping for more stuffs for this project.

8/6/2015
Today is the day that i would like to start spray paint the right side panel, the front and the top panel.

This chassis is unique in a sense that i could remove the top, front and side panel without any difficulties.

This is the top panel. Sprayed the first coat

The 2nd

And the last coat

It took quite some time to dry up. So i decided to took day by day to do the rest of it as it is a little time consuming.

10/6/2015
I redo the side panel as it was darn ugly.

Peeled it off and redo.

Removed it and do another day....

11/6/2015

Did it for the Front Panel.

13/6/2015

Went out shopping and at the same time to grab all the components. Here are the specs of the PC.

MSI H97 Gaming 3
Intel i7-4790 Processor
ADATA SP900 128gb SSD
GSkills Ripjaws 2x4gb Kit Red
Xigmatek Cooler
Seasonic m12ii 600w 80+ Bronze Modular PSU (EVO Edition)
MSI GTX960 2gb Twin Frozr Gaming

Also went back to Hachi Square and get another acrylic artwork for all the supporting brands for this project.

Test piece by Hachi Square

Actual Piece

I've decided to fix up the entire PC altogether. But however needed to do the Mobo Backlit LED to let it glow from the sides first, before putting in the Mobo.

Tested when putting in the Mobo.

20/6/2015

Went on to put all the other stuffs and to see roughly how it looks like without LED

continued...

Put it on with the side panel dragon insignia

And finally the top and front panel.

22/6/2015

I was trying to solder the RGB controller with all the LEDs. But however this RGB Controller went b@stard on me. It gave a loud pop and burnt my finger.

Went on without it as it was too late to rectify the issue. So gonna make do for CGF and await till the next upcoming event.

23/6/2015

And finally just done the LED strips for the side panels and the partners acrylic.

Daylight shot

Night shot

Conclusion

This overall project would not happen without the following people,

All the supporters whom came and view, and also showing their support here.

Also would like to special thanks to...
Hachi Square - Mr Samuel and Mrs Ivin
Corbell - Clon22 and his team of people

To my personal point of view, this project is extremely time consuming, due to the paint work and also the LED stuffs. However it is a fun journey for me, and also thank Corbell/MSI for letting me to present and showcase it for CGF.

For those whom wanna take a look at the actual project you could actually head down to CGF at AMK ITE Central College on the 26th June 2015.

For that, i would like to conclude, Project Dragon Spirit a success!
