if already sent for the CSM course then being promoted to SSG and MSG is really expected and cannot run away.

but if promoted but haven't been send for course then must really pray hard that your unit do thing by left cos by right the unit must eventually send you for the course.

Not yet. Went for my first ICT but there wasn't any time nor space for me to even ask. And I had to defer this year's ICT because I'm on attachment with government agency. There seems to be almost no way. Frustrating.

My 4th ICT this year then I got promoted, roof got added on.

First few years ICT usually officers get promoted, men a few. This year a large chunk of Specialists got promoted in my unit.

Promotion may or may not help your reservist duties. If you get promoted but no additional manpower under you, you will still be doing your same job right?

I'm not sure if deferments affect the rate of promotion. I suppose if they see less of you because of deferment, they cannot guage your suitability for advancement.

Think it depends on unit also. My unit is quite fixated, they usually go by the book.

That what happen to my platoon, everyone is a specialist, there are no men, in the end, everyone got promoted to do the sa kang together...

yes, just nice yst i was having lunch and i overhead a major saying he was conducting course at SAFTI for NSmen to be navy officer.

He mention that those NSmen were army cpl in the past.

Now become navy CPT liao.

i have recently finished my reservist. I got a rank 'promotion' from LCP to CPL out of nowhere. whatever form i signed to draw stuffs, and nominal roll and even ns.sg also reflected on CPL rank. But there's no official letter sent to me? Can like that one meh?
