You're asking too much with too little info.
Do you have the scope pictures of the diamond?

If its a super ideal cut, it'll be a great buy.
If its a triple exc with bad proportions or fluorescence, it'll be a bad buy.
I duno if is super ideal. But i saw with the aset scope and it exhibits good hearts and arrow with no flourensence.

I was quite satisfied with its blink blink.

You sure it's ASET scope? Aset scope looks like this.

ASET_Scope_Large.jpg

It's different from the Hearts and arrows scope.
Or you can upload the pic to see :)

I did not use an Asset scope for this. Maybe is not super ideal. So if for this price, is it a good by for this Ideal diamond?

Yes I saw the certs but I wasn't allowed to snap a shot. Also the aset scope is the one posted by u bros.

Huh? How come cannot take photo of the certificate?
That's very weird le.. there's no reason to prevent you from noting down the certificate for the diamond that you're buying..
Did you check the diamond laser inscription to match the certificate?

Hi guys, I'm a newbie to diamonds and trying to slowly read the past discussion pages..
In all of the 4Cs, which one should you pay attention to the most?

The most important in my opinion is CUT and ofcourse proportion, symmetry polish and blah blah goes along since we are going for diamond because of its brilliancy given the fact that it's the hardest stone.

Color, Clarity and Carat will go beyond and depends on your preference. As I have learned, comparing a .46ct ( exaggerated ;-) ) to .50ct in terms of the size and by merely looking at it, a good cut diamond will make the .45ct looks bigger and comparable to .50ct. Why I say color and clarity will be a persons preference? because as the color and clarity gets better the price also is going better ;-)

An excellent cut diamond plus a very good color (D-G) and clarity (IF-VS2) is the most sought after.

But dont be deceived by 3EX diamond, I learned a lot from this forum about proportion and everything. Having an excellent cut is never enough ;-)

How did they go about discussing and showing you the flourescence?

Im curious, as most of the shops (not all) that I went thru never ever tell about it. They will just say "flouresence none" and thats it.

based on your price... it's probably a normal ideal cut.

don't think $3k can get your a 0.56ct super ideal...
I think its really not super ideal type liao. Maybe you all can help me decide the following

0.56ct E colour VS1 triple excellent $3200nett - saw it with heart and arrow scope
0.52ct E colour VS2 triple excellent $2990nett - saw it with asset scope, ideal heart n arrow
0.51ct E colour SI1 triple excellent $2450nett - saw it with asset scope, ideal heart n arrow

Mine's 0.9 G VS1 :) They only had this and the next level was 1.1 E or F but price diff by 7k.. No in between range so i couldnt get an above 1 carat diamond :(

Oooo, what's your damage ? Same here ! Was hoping I could get a 1.0X but they had nth along that range. Not even 0.9-1.0X. I think you bought away the last 0.90 range lol. I think i might know which 1.1 youre talking about. but sadly 1.1 is too huge for my fingers for daily wear.

Can't help you without the scope pictures bro...
Also need the certificate to check if the basic angles are fine.

Mine was 11150 with setting. There was 0.83 VVS1 E selling at 11k plus without setting. Being a typical consumer, i chose the larger carat as i cant really tell the diff between slightly lower clarity and color from naked eye. Moreover it was cheaper.
Hee, so i was lucky that my appt was earlier than yours if not you might have taken the 0.9.

Yup, as Hollander said, Cut is the the biggest factor.. IMO, you can sacrifice abit on everything but the Cut.

This illustrates Hollander's point about Cut making the diamond look bigger :)
