I was quoted around $6,700 for a 0.73 E VVS2 at JP before, so your statement on getting a 0.7ct (super ideal) diamond <$7k is correct.

wah indeed a very good price, which means i paid $1000 more for 0.71 F VVS1 for (super ideal cut) since my diamond is 0.02c smaller, one colour lower (F) but one clarity higher (VVS1).
given the choice i would get yours anytime alpha.

by the way when do you bought it ?

Wow, 0.12 ct different is massively significant when u put side by side!

Perhaps a couple more picture of the side of the ring, and one with the diamond in focus would be nice. Actually a short video is the best way to show.

Very fast shipping! I'm impressed.

remember, depth and spread plays a vital role. I'm putting my bet that the smaller one has a rather poor spread and large depth:s12:

Hi Sir,

Are you asking about the a diamond with Fluorescence? There have been a good discussion on that and how it affects the pricing. It will still depends on your preferrence, but base on my reading Fluorescence can help enhance the color of lower grade/coloured diamond, lets say H-J it will help to minimize the "yellowish" color, and for highly graded diamond as much as possible it should be Fluorescence free, because those D-F colored diamond with Fluorescence will look a bit cloudy.

actually if the fluorescence was cloudy, it would still remain cloudy even on lower colors, it helps reduce the yellowness on low colors like J K L M, but still remains cloudy. Give/take kinda thing:s12:

I was quite disappointed with my trip to JP yesterday. We were in & out of the shop within 15mins & all that happened was that we were shown some diamonds. =( This isn't the norm right?

You have the GIA number?
From there can go to GIA website to see the cert.. easier that way

Draculav bro,

you're kinda right in a way, I'm new to this forum and got problem trying to figure out how to upload photos.
The cert number should be this set of number: GIA 5156139315.

Hmmm...did you make an appointment with JP before making a trip down?

Newbies like you and me do not have enuff post count to post pics de...=:p Anyway the HCA is 1.4. Like hollander (I think) advised before, have to be sure that the feather does not cut through the girdle. ;)

I did call in the morning to make an appointment before going down, and it was a mutually agreed time. I'm thinking of trying again. Hahaha! Should I ask for a specific person?

Hi Bro,

Base on the GIA report, has this been presented to you as hearts and arrows? If not then that's good.

In my opinion the table is too large, (good if you want a bigger looking diamond), then the crown angle is a bit far from the minimum requirements of Ideal cut H&A.

Thank you for your reply bro. Not too sure how was it present to me, but she did show me under the scope to see the hearts and arrows when i request.

is table too large a bad thing? as in will it cause the diamond to chip more easily or something?

hmm, do you mind sharing what's the minimum requirement crown angle for heart and arrows?

Sorry for asking so much, just wanna make sure before i spend so much money on it.

You are correct as well bro, It is not given how strong the fluorescence should be for it to be cloudy, Faint and Medium is still ok. Not all FL diamond is cloudy and it is very hard to determine by the naked eye. In normal light condition I think FL is negligible.

A good read from GIA:

Hmm.. did they say this is a super ideal cut?
I looked at the cert and it doesn't look like a super ideal cut.. the crown angle is too low (32.5) degrees, affecting the light return. It might even have light leakages under the ASET scope. Did you see the diamond with the ASET scope?

nope, the diamond wasnt present to me as super ideal cut. I did use some scope to view the diamond. but wasnt too sure what scope is that. How to justifiy if there's any light leakage?
