nope, the diamond wasnt present to me as super ideal cut. I did use some scope to view the diamond. but wasnt too sure what scope is that. How to justifiy if there's any light leakage?
ASET or Ideal scope images will be able to show how bad the light leakages is in a diamond. Only few jewelers can provide these images, you can try requesting from your jeweler for it. Are you particularly looking for a H&A? Otherwise the diamond in question may not be a Super Ideal Cut H&A diamond, but may still be a stunning stone. Have you seen the stone in person under different light conditions?
The scope i used was to see the hearts and arrow, but probably because i dont even know there's a light leakage even if i saw them. I shall ask from them. In this case, does this stone still worth 4.1k?

Thanks Hollander & Lurker for your feedback, info and advice. this dealer was introduced by a friend of mine. I guess i wont mention the name. Anyway I've made an appointment with jp this weekend. Maybe i can do some comparsion after my visit.

Charlotte (Wisma)
Famous for the Tolkowsky diamond cut, their Signature diamond (also 57 facets).
He is famous diamond cutter to come up with the Ideal proportions of a diamond in the 1900s.
They've also got another diamond called the Gabrielle cut (105 facets). Almost double the facets of a normal round!
They did a diamond comparison for me with the Gabrielle and a 57 facet diamond. The Gabrielle looked much better.. However, the 57 facet diamond they used for comparison was not their Tolkowsky cut, but a lower quality one. (I realized alot of shops do this with their special cuts.. using a lousy 57 facets against their higher faceted diamond).
One thing I discovered though is none of their diamonds are GIA certified. They use their own certificate called the Tolkowsky or Gabrielle cert.. essentially, they certify their own diamonds. The lady explained to me that diamonds with these certificates would appreciate in value over the years because their certificates are more special and limited.. Personally, I'm not too sure about that.

Assuming that you only use the h&a scope, i suppose that they are showing to you the hearts and arrows pattern, though they are not claiming that it is indeed a H&A diamond or super ideal diamond.
BTW from which store is this?
For the comparison on the pricing, since we have BlueNile (I am not promoting BlueNile nor I am connected to it), having the same specs or better because it is from their Signature Ideal range, here are the diamonds and the prices to give you an idea.

The price given to you is not far from the online price, but the thing is how good is BlueNile's Signature Ideal (3EX) compare to the 3EX diamond that you are considering.
The only advantage you have is that, you have the time in this world to see the diamond in person. Im not sure if BlueNile can give you the Scope images of the diamond.
Hi all,
I am totally noob on all this. For around S$2k, am I able to get a decent size proposal ring ?
If so, can please recommend ? Thanks
Hi,
Just recently one of our bro here just did, a .42ct diamond solitaire. Thats thru online, not sure if you preferred the same.
I think local shops can offer the same online or not.
I don't mind buying from BlueNile (did some reading from this thread).
My only concern would be resizing of the ring. How does BlueNile deals with the resizing ? Do we have to send back to the states for them to do the resizing and how will the shipping charges be like ?
Anyone did resizing with BlueNile before ?
