Hi guys,

I'm very new to diamond rings or female diamond accessories altogether. I am actually keen to find out how well does these diamond rings retain their value over time? Does brands make a difference?

E.g comparing Lee Hwa, Soo Kee, etc (versus) brands like Chanel's Fine Jewellry range.

I am actually looking at 1 to 1.5 carat in size for the ring. Any opinions, knowledge or recommendations will be most helpful. Thanks in advance!

I don't think brands will make any difference in retaining the value. It's not easy selling diamond rings away. I got my Bvlgari diamond ring and considered selling it away but no takers.. Some offered me at less than half the price but I'd rather just keep it.

Focus more on what you want and the quality. Something that you can wear forever or even pass down. You can't go wrong with a high quality diamond.

Nice rings! My fiance's wants to do hers in rose gold too but I prefer white gold. My skin is quite dark.. so rose gold doesn't look that nice on me.

Must the wedding bands be matchy? If girls one is rose gold and guys one is white gold, is it ok? Or must be same color?

OOH this was the exact same pair I was eyeing from their FB page too!

I was actually considering the normal rounded plain kind of band initially.. but somehow ended up choosing this.. haha

I think it should be more matching like the same elements.. Most married guys I know have the normal plain round bands and the female ring is just up to them..

Thanks for the info.

I realised if one is looking at wedding rings, shouldn't be too concerned about depreciation or how well it retains its value since it's gonna be worn for the rest of our lifetime (hopefully? lol).

I am still doing my research and have been advised to check out Jann Paul. Do they customise as well? What is the usual waiting time upon confirmation of designs? Thanks.

From a private jeweler.

I am not sure if the proportions is good, but there is good sparkle.

I read from ACA Gem Laboratory, at the bottom of the webpage it says that pavilion angle of 41 degree is ideal, but some other sites also mentioned that 41 is the upper limit.

U can see the light leakage is quite a bit. Just wondering if u tried jp with same specs?

U can customise the setting. I think I wouldn't customise anything so waiting time is 2 -3 weeks

Yup I went to JP also. I was quoted a 0.71 G VVS2 without ring setting for about 1.6K more than my 0.72 F VS1 which includes ring setting. So if I include ring setting, JP will be around 2K more.

I wasn't shown the scope pics of the JP diamond. But I reckon that VS1 is good enough and color is more important.

JP does have a nicer presentation of the scope pics; with the reflection of scope image below and shadow effects of the border.

Hmm I waited for mine for about 6 weeks as it was CNY period. Just double check with them and don't wait until last minute.

JP quoted me 0.71 G VVS2 7.3 k
so comparable to the one they quote u.

Look thru scope seems similar to me so I bought from cheaper source.

Any advice on the scope images?
Thanks!

Can anyone help to check the scope images and see if it is a good buy.

Why is there a blue and orange hue in the H&A scope image?
and what does the black triangle in the aset scope meant?

Thanks!

0.58 E vvs2

Up to you I guess.. I prefer it to be matching so it has the same theme when we both wear together. They also had some mix white and rose gold together if you don't want full rose gold.
