my turn to give me simple review of JP.

served by Joy from JP. good attitude, full of smiles, not bad for a start. left without any confirmation.

few days later i went to a shop in tanjong pagar. served by a gentleman. showed me a few stones, i narrowed down to 1 and requested for the gia cert but was only given a printed copy. i asked to see a few more stones for comparison. decided to leave and do more homework, he seems kind of pissed.

next day i immediately email Joy, giving her a few cert number to see if she can offer something similar. Jann called me shortly, explaining to me that the stones i viewed at tanjong pagar are not in singapore, but with their diamond cutters overseas. i felt sort of cheated :(

ultimately, Jann managed to find a little stone of my required specs and my limited budget. very happy with his service and dedication, i decided to make place a deposit.

to summarise, JP knows that they are offering, they might not be the cheapest, but you can be assured you are getting quality stuffs :D

below are some of my images, 0.42, F, VS1. thank you for reading

niCEee... got mine from JP 4 years ago.. just a simple 0.56, E, VS1 hearts and arrow.. wife loves it till today. was attended by both Jann and Paul and their service is top notch for young fellas..

firstly, i did my research online on the different grades of diamond and I emailed them my preferred dimensions.. after a few email correspondences, they selected two stones for me to review. that's when I decided to meet them at their shop to assess the two stones. Paul patiently explained to me the quality of the stones and I paid the deposit thereafter.. on the second visit, I gave my wife (gf back then) a surprise by bringing her to the shop for finger sizing.. and they patiently explained to my wife this time round.. I find their price to be reasonable and I definitely appreciate their service.. one of the important factor to me is I get to assess the stone before it is set on the ring.

your friend's ring is nice, do you happen to know how much your friend paid for it?

Followed my friend to collect his ring. Very bling man. He got a Super ideal cut. FYI, its a 0.9ct. If he didn't tell me the size, I would think its a 1ct. The cutting makes it look bigger.

Lol.. I think she's trying to smoke you bro.. Carat is only the weight it does not affect the brilliance of the diamond.. neither does the color.

JP got explain why Cut > Carat before. A better Cut will make the diamond look bigger. A lower carat diamond with better cut can look bigger than a higher carat with a lousier cut.

ASET is to analyze the light return of the diamond. It's to check if the diamond have bad light leakages. Essentially its used to check how shiny your diamond is going to be. IMO, I think its actually one of the most important scope out of all of them.

I fully agree with you bro.

When my wife wears her ring out and compares it with her friends, I can tell the difference in the quality and shine. I once saw her friend's 1ct diamond next to my 0.7ct. Even though can tell my diamond was abit smaller, the sparkle was more and bigger :D You get so big also no use... if it doesn't sparkle, people won't even think its a diamond.

How do you guys choose your setting design? Don't know if I should go for the simple one or with the small diamonds on the ring.. or customize... Even if I want to customize, don't really know what to customize.. lol

It'll be easier if I can just bring her down to choose... but that will spoil the surprise..

What's the dmg for ur diamond??

Engagement Rings

Hi Peeps,

Am planning to buy a proposal ring soon. Looking at the budget range between 7-9k.

Went to Love&co, who quoted me around 9.3k for a (ideal cut 0.73carat F VS2) lovemark collection. Will be heading down to JannPaul to take a look across the weekends too. But which would be better? JP or LoveCo? My thinking for LoveCo was that their focus was more towards the ring design more than the diamond and JP is the other way around. Some replies would be deeply appreciated.

Once in a life time, would like to get it right :)

Thank You.

my POV is that..if you see a nice design in loveCo which you like, you can ask JP to customise for you, but the quality of the diamond in JP, you possibly wont find it in loveCo. also, with a 9.3k budget, i think you might even be able to get a slightly bigger Carat at JP, or even a solasfera!

I think is best you go down to JP to have a look before you decide. I got mine at 0.77ct F VS2 Super Ideal at 8K without setting, so with your budget, i think you can get a better specs as compared to the one quoted by love&co. But ultimately is still depend on your choice.

Cheers

No doubt JP is professional & the diamonds are really of a certain standard but maybe because there is a lack of 'chemistry' btw our sales person & us, the interactions so far is kind of ' bland' haha...just the standard tutorials, & Q&A.

Currently trying to customise the ring setting, but we having abit of challenge, cos there's a lack of idea inputs from the sales person, mostly is 'if u want, our designer can do it for you'. Sent a watsapp this morning asking a quick qn regarding the render, he say will check with designer & update us, but till now no news. Cant help feeling that aft place deposit, the priority maybe not really there. Or maybe its just because our sales person really not designed trained. All in all the experience so far is alright, definitely happy with our diamond, just that maybe we are unconsciously expecting more haha!
