Thanks for your advice! But isn't the colour rated D, E, F, G & etc? Mind sharing what is the spec of the diamond did you get from bluenile?

I uds you're looking for alternatives to JP but my 2c is go with JP. On top of going away with confirm chop beautiful super ideal/ideal diamond, you will be glad in the event you need some after sales service such as *touch wood* ring size too big since u mentioned u're not sure about your gf's ring size.

If you really wana look for online, check out BrianGavin, James Allen, WhiteFlash. These 3 enough to make you bonkers. On top of that, they have real images of the diamond itself plus scopes. Most of what is on BlueNile is a virtual inventory.

GIA diamond grading report does plot the inclusions in their report. Most probably what you saw is a GIA diamond dossier. Most diamond sellers will have the grading report as the price difference between the two is not alot.

Anyways, very beautiful cushion diamond. Your wife is a lucky lady.

Reason it's graded by AGS is because only AGS has a grading for Light Performance and GIA does not provide any Cut grade for fancy cut diamonds. On top of that, GIA does not provide any proportions such as crown and pavilion angle etc. Personal preference, I would choose an AGS cert over a GIA one any day.

This is very assuring to hear. I always thought GIA is the most sought for cert. Atleast now I know that diamond graded by AGS is very reliable =)

My Octagon diamond also comes with AGS cert. There are a few info which is not shown in the GIA cert.

These are the scopes of mine. Wifey loves it alot. The sparkles are massive compared to the round diamonds. Only thing is they come in 1ct up only.

so is their solesfera :s22:

correct to says that HCA rating don't count for such fancy cuts?

HCA is only applicable to round diamond 57 facets. So I believe for octagon, solasfera etc cant be used as they dont follow the proportion of the 57 facets.

Yep no worries. To further put your heart at peace, the famous hyped Destinee diamonds are graded by AGS, always citing AGS000 for their line of diamonds when you can clearly see JP diamonds are no different and their price point is so much better. :s22:

Hi Lynn! Care to share how much you upgraded your bling for and what setting did you choose? Did you change it and was charged extra? Thanks!
I paid total of $4k for my previous bling 0.46 e colour vvs1. Then now i topup $3.2k for a 0.61 e colour vs1. Its abit not worth lor cause of the settings. Jp have to recraft a new setting due to security reasons for the diamond. So i totally agree that we should just get one diamond which is worthy and not just settle for a mediocre one :)

I changed my setting since I still have to pay for a new one and my salesperson recommended me one with a little twisted band which will make the diamond appear bigger haha. I paid lesser price for the setting though. Small discount given by my salesperson =)

I see! Is your diamond still a round shape and your settings have side diamonds? So your previous setting will be taken back by them?

Yah i still went for a round brilliant diamond, i am more of the traditional type of girl HAHA. nope, no side diamond as i want the focus to be on the solitaire =).

My previous ring is still with me. I requested to return upon collection of new ring and placed a deposit of $1k.

Yah. the color is rated D-E-F, etc. I bought a 0.45 D SI1 from bluenile. Back then I thought D color means the diamond will look very white... mistake.. mistake.. What makes a diamond look white is the brightness, which is to do with the light reflection.. which is to do with the cut. So when I compared around, a G color diamond could somehow look whiter and brigher than my D color diamond because of the Cut. If the diamond have light leakage, high color also no use.. That's why I will rank the cut more than the color
