one more factor on price though, is the faint fluorescence :s12: no one saw that

Actually under normal room conditions really damn hard to see the fluoresence.

I am going to test it out under the bright sunlight to see how is the effect. Don't think will purposely go clubs to test since my gf dun go clubbing. Wait for my next media upload!

Actually if cut small corners here and there too much end up the whole diamond look different lol..
btw, cut affects the biggest in how your diamond look, actually what is the least obvious is clarity..
Personally I would go for the best cut possible and drop on clarity..

@Dawn I saw already just no time to post lol

Hi guys, I read the whole thread and decided to set an appointment with JP and met up with David & Jann earlier this afternoon.

I must say I'm really satisfied with their service. So much so that it was supposed to be like a recce appointment for me to go down to look see look see and understand more like prices diamonds, etc that I went ahead with them and placed a deposit for my engagement ring!

David took a lot of time and effort to explain the various cuts, colour and clarity of a diamond that I think I have enough knowledge now to be a senior staff at maybe Lee Hwa or Goldheart ;p LOL. They really help in educating their customers about all the various things that most mainstream retailers always leave out. For first timers like myself, I strongly recommend you guys to go JP, don't need to buy but at least go and listen for the knowledge before making the decision.

I took some pics of the web of some designs I wanted and worked with Jann to produce my ring. Added features that I wanted and hoping that it will be the perfect ring to propose to my gf! if you cannot decide what style of the ring suits your wife-to-be, bring a recent photo of her and show to Jann! LOL (apparently, he told me he's quite spot-on based on the photo and that was how I chose my ring too :p)

Thanks again guys for recommending JP!

Will post pictures once I get the 3D photos from Jann!

Some things that are required of a solasfera:
No light leakage
Perfect Optical symmetry
Brilliancescope score must be max

So, yvette, that is a solasfera. i.e. there are no crack or misalignment because if it had those, then there will be light leakage which would mean it cant be a solasfera

And, yes, i own a Solasfera and like it very much. :)

depends on how both side treasure the ring...

for me it has a special meaning.. so i will not consider upgrade for it.. at most i will get another ring for maybe anniversary?

proposal ring is always the ring u used to propose.. it can never be replaced unless u wanna propose another time.. ;-p

If husband is trading the diamond up to a bigger carat, better color and clarity and better cut.
I think the wife may think twice and be more than happy to exchange.

Did you get a brilliant lady?? It's the 221 facets diamond right??
I'm not very sure what to look out for in this diamond cos it has no Hearts & Arrows.. but I assume you can mainly look out for the symmetry and light leakages.

Everything looks good to me... The only light leakage I can find is in the middle.. but if I'm not mistaken, that might be how it is suppose to be cut..

I find that the actual scope picture looks quite mesmerizing... lol
