I did ask them if I can swap. They allowed me but I'll have to pay extra to change the setting again since mine is a 6 prongs.

Oh your ring is already done? Then you'll have to pay for the new setting, that's understandable.

If you are going online, ensure that you are able to view the various scopes. Their super ideal diamonds normally come with IDEAL, ASET and H&A views. This would be useful in making the valuations. However, the very good ones of the super ideal do get snapped up very quickly. You would need to make fast moves on them if you see something you good and is available.

Thanks a lot for your advise.

I think i still prefer to see the diamond personally before the purchase. I am not in hurry so i can look around if there is any better deal.

Lovida only provide the scopes if you ask for it. But after seeing the diamonds with the scopes, it paints a different picture. Vivo diamond provides the scopes too. When I was there, they have very few diamonds to show.. cos they do consignment goods like blue nile. I was showed their signature ideal which is supposedly their super ideal, but none of them looked perfect. Some had dugged girdles and uneven hearts. People from other forums have complained about this too.. So I don't think I'm the only one who noticed this or am fussy.

I think what some places are doing is claiming they have Super Ideal diamonds. But if they fail to convince you that it is a Super Ideal, they'll persuade you to buy something else like uncertified diamonds.. Thats the feeling I'm getting..

I've already wasted $8.6k on a Tiffany ring.. I don't want to waste more money. In the end, I was deciding between JP Super Ideal and Whiteflash ACA. But with all the discrepancy I experienced in other jewelry shops, I wanted to see the diamond myself to be sure. With JP, at least I got to see the diamond. After calculating the price of the diamond from Whiteflash with all the exchange rate, shipping and tax, it comes up to be about the same as JP anyway. So might as well get it from them.

i am actually planning to visit Vivo & Lovida. Based on your experience i may change my mind.

May i know what do you mean "it paints a different picture"? None of their Signature are close to the quality of Super Ideal?

Need your review of these two

Hi guys can you help me to review these two diamonds.

I have been to this shop, a diamond wholesaler, recommended by a colleague.

I captured the two GIA certs.
ImageShack® - GIA Cert
Both diamonds have very good H&A shape, according to my view :). with 57 facets.

She does not have Ideal Scope for me to check though.
I check the laser printing. It matches the cert.

The 0.57C is priced at 3500 including the ring.
The 0.63C is priced at 4500 including the ring.

I checked online (vivo Diamond) and a few shops, the price seems very attractive to me. What do you think?

I really appreciate your help.

Yup.. my ring is done already. I posted a comparison of it and my old ring earlier.

This is the Tiffany i got before

I wasn't happy that the diamond was not of the best quality that I was hoping for, my wife found the diamond was too small, end up we got one more from Jannpaul.

The funny thing we both notice is that jannpaul diamond is whiter, even the color is lower. It's possible to see from the pictures too. My camera cannot capture the sparkles but in real life the jannpaul diamond is much more sparkly and looks just more clean, like you can see all the cutting much clearer.

It paints a different picture as what they claim the diamond should be. Like when I asked if they had Super Ideal diamonds, they would say yes and show them to me. But when I see it in person, it's not a Super Ideal. It looks different from the Signature pictures on their website. What irks me the most was when I know its not a Super Ideal, but yet they say it's a Super Ideal. To me, it's either a Super Ideal or not. With all these inconsistencies, I felt insecure getting a diamond from them. But that's just my opinion. Try searching reviews of them online and you'll find quite alot of negative feedback.

I think you should use the Ideal and Aset scope to check the diamond. Good hearts and arrows does not mean the diamond it is good. It can still have bad light leakages.

http://www.ideal-scope.com/cart_order.asp
You can buy the scopes yourself. An Ideal scope only cost US25 and Aset costs US50. If you're spending so much money, these scopes are very cheap to be sure that your buying a good diamond. What I don't understand is why don't more shops carry this since its so cheap.. or maybe it's their intention not to show you?

I checked the HCA score of the diamonds.
0.57C - HCA 3.7 (Very Good - Worth buying if the price is right)
0.63C - HCA 5.6 (Good - Only if price is your main criterion)

5.6 is the highest HCA score Ive ever seen for a triple exc.. (the higher the worse).I know Jann Paul maximum HCA they accept is 1.4. From my experience, I don't think a diamond can have a good hearts and arrows which such a high HCA score.. But either way, you should use the Ideal and ASET scope to check the diamond.

cushion brellia is surely a cute diamond de~ i am aiming for one now also hehe~
got target any design to go with le?

i think a halo design shld be pretty fail-safe? I dunno if I wanna get a setting with side diamonds. My lady saw one at JP with side diamonds running down the side and it costs $1300 =.=. Guess I have to bite the bullet and showhand =:p

Probably something like this

Really appreciate your valuable opinion

The seller said she cannot hold them for too long (until this Fri). Order the scope requires sometime. I dont know if anyone can lend it to me.

The pricing is quire attractive.

What other qn I should ask the seller?

Ideal-Scope, Idealscope, Ideal scope, the diamond Cut Grading Tool

Actually, if you're willing to go for lower grade diamonds, the prices isn't cheap. I would say those 2 triple excellent diamonds are towards the lower end of the range. There are other places with better diamonds at better prices.

Please enlighten me with the methods to tell those 2 triple excellent are towards the lower end? I really like to know how beside the HCA scores.
I cannot verify the diamond with Idealscope since I dont have one.

But when I compare the price and specs of these two with other diamonds, these two offer very good bargain and good spec too.

Thank you.

There are quite a few things to look out for..
You can try scrolling a few pages back in the thread.. There are some posts that talks about what to see.. Or you can go make an appointment with JP. They give a free diamond tutorial.

GorgeouS, I'll have a session with JP this Friday.
Can you be more specific on your comment on what to look out for please :)
