Hey! I saw your thread in the EDMW corner!! you finally decided on a diamond for your anniversary present.. haha.

I think it looks nice.. especially with the Brellia... (my ring also had side diamonds.. HEHE).. Since you already got a round diamond for your first ring, I'd say the Brellia is a good choice (then again, I might be biased as i got a Brellia myself =:p)

Btw, I notice the Brellia has slightly less like leakages compared to the 57 facets rounds.. scientifically speaking =:p

my point of view is that just the brellia with a simple row of side diamond is good enuff.. too fancy will spoil the "cuteness" of the cushion shape =p

if big big expensive diamonds dun like but small cheap cheap diamonds she like then good lor. u can save money.

she likes both big and small -_-

with side diamonds can.. but ring setting dont be so complicated. you dont know to look at the diamonds or the ring design. :s13:

im a girl so thats my feedback.

yeah! diamonds easier since i went thru the JP walk of education on diamonds before and know their standard.. my wife amazed by their diamonds already.. easier less stress..
i might top it up with a bag with the ring inside...so double surprise... the bag wise will ask for opinions on a bag thread :s13:

the science to diamond is quite out of my league, better leave it to experts like yourself here tsktsk..
what i am more in need is design guide... the diamond even though i haven't seen it myself, from pictures, videos and the general feedback here...seems like a good choice to go for cushion brellia...

It is not heart and arrows diamond if I'm not wrong. Subjected to personal preference. As for me, I feel that the blings are too chaotic. Nevertheless, more than double the number of cut as compared to Solasfera! OMG!

Nobody considered the Brilliant Lady?

221 facets.

One question here. I am thinking that more cuts will end up more blings, but less fire generally in most cases. Is it true?

the solasfera looks interesting, anyone has any idea how much a 0.4 - 0.5ish solasfera at JP cost?

hi all, like to know the price range for the spec and design i am looking for.. anything within F, for clarity as long as within VS normal series is ok for me.. and mayb 0.35 - 0.40 will be big enough for me.. for cut i am thinking between round or heart? i know the price differ greatly as mention by Jannpaul.. any idea why? i had already set appt with him next sat but would like to know roughly what i am looking at first.. & also like my setting to be with small diamond at side.. for that size i am looking at, how many "claws" will be best to show out the best for the size? been to meyson today and been quote 1482 for HSA 0.39ct F VS2 & also got to top up 391 to change to the setting that i like which is with side diamond.. is it ok? also realise that their cert is SIG instead of GIA is it a impt factor or all cert is the same? think my budget is below 2k perferably.. do advise & let me know.. first diamond of my life! :p thanks!!!

Mine is about 0.4 with setting less than $3k.
So for 0.4 - 0.5 should be between $2-3k for the diamond itself.

Ah bummer..... missus hinted she wants a heart shape cut. Anyone got that from JP? I saw they did a leticia heart ring before on their facebook.

Heart shape diamonds are priced cheaper than the round ones.. That's probably because they sparkle alot less.. People who go for heart shapes are mainly for the shape of the diamond... IMO, I'll only get a heart diamond if your gf specifically hinted that she loves the shape.. If not, it might be safer to get a round. I remember a few bros here have got a heart diamond from Jann Paul before.. Can check with them..

Different diamond certificates are definitely not the same!! Most jewellers will insist that it's the same.. Blah blah blah.. But it's not. The best is to stick with GIA or AGS. There's a good reason why people avoid others like IGI, EGL, etc.. They are not as strict as GIA. Summore those are even more recognized than SIG and people avoid them.. SIG is even scarier... I know sometimes if the diamond is like IGI certified and you insist on GIA, they say they can re-certify that diamond with GIA for you. But they charge some ridiculous price which doesn't make sense..

thanks for the reply, my bf know nuts about diamond so he leave it up to me to decide which i like but i am not really a diamond person so this is the first diamond i gonna get & also won't trade in in the future so i hope to get the one & only one that even after 20 yrs will still hold special meaning to me.. didnt want him to spend too much on a stone as well but at least make his money worthwhile as least.. do you think 2k is enough? my aim is at least 0.35-0.40 D-F & under VS normal series will do.. my setting i would like small diamond on the side.. i call jannpaul and they quote me price which is out of my budget :( so i am thinking of alternative if next sat appt with them is not what i am looking for.. & also as mention since meyson diamond is under SIG so no point looking at theirs already right? what about sookee? do advise.. thanks! :)

2k for the your diamond spec is possible.. but with side diamond i doubt so.. so mayb you should consider going without side diamonds or increase your budget
