Tiffany diamond have a better range compare to other shop. I went there before n see it with my own eye. Even I Color r so beautiful. N not forgetting they use platinum for the ring setting.

I ask my sis to do a HCA test on her Tiffany diamond n got a score of 0.7. It's jus that u r not able to know more thru scope but they only choose the best diamond according to a frd who is GIA certified.

One thing about Tiffany stores is that they use very strong lightings.. this was highlighted to me by Casey during my session last time.. If you look carefully, the Tiffany store is filled with those orange halogen and LED lights, which makes the diamond sparkle like mad. This makes the color of the diamond very hard to tell. Casey showed me a L Color and E Color under LED light and I could hardly tell any difference.

Another thing that bugs me is that Tiffany certifies their own diamonds. It's not by GIA. To me, I would prefer a 3rd party to certify the diamond... If a company certifies their own diamonds and sell.. it can be biased towards their own diamonds. But that's just my own thoughts =:p

GorgeouS, you spot on! Yeah, I agreed but every jewelery shop (including HOH) is doing something like that (perhaps tiffany put in more effort). No blame on whichever shop or brand. It is very much depend on the sale person you deal with. If they are good, they will educate and guide you honestly. Or if you are an educated buyer, challenge them on the spot. LOL!

I can tell the diff between H and E colour under LED lights with my naked eye if both are put side by side. :o

At the end of the day, for me at least, all diamonds are the same. So I am just buying a brand. Pretty much like why one would buy a BMW over a lexus even though the lexus has similar specs but cost less. :)

For the info of everyone, Gemesis has launched their website and you can buy loose stones from them. These are synthetic diamonds. They are not mined from the earth.

Synthetic diamonds are not to be confused with diamond-look-a-likes like cubic zirconia. Gemesis's diamonds are truly (chemical composition) diamonds. Prices per carat would definitely be cheaper than mined-from-the-earth diamonds.

Never seen or bought from them before. Just putting the info here for people to see. Cheers!

This is so cool. I happen to be browsing T&C catalog a week ago and wanted to ask JP if they could do something similar, and here it is!!

My personal opinion - The Tiffany ring is nothing to wow about. Not sure to say this but the 6 prong setting has gotten too popular with the masses although it may be true that the rip-offs are not so well done. I wasn't too impressed with the service there when I went there previously to look at their stuff (I had much better service at Van Cleef and Arpels) and I tried pulling off a cheap stunt by going to the Tiffany and Co shop right after collecting my Gabrielle ring. I had my ring on and the big Charlotte paper bag and hovered around the display area. But it was an exceptionally busy day with all the AH TIONGS. Sian liao so I left. But i realised that my Gabrielle did look exceptionally nice under the intense lightings at Tiffany cos the Charlotte shop is quite dim with the black walls.

Specs the same doesn't mean they perform the same. :D

If I'm not wrong.. Tiffany uses the traditional 57 facets 8 hearts and arrows diamonds. Yours is a 105 facets diamond non hearts and arrows which obviously will outshine the 57 facets under bright lights. Then again, its up to individual preference as some may find the 57 facets not sparkling enough, whereas others would feel more facets makes the diamond "messy".

If you like sparkles, there's the 221 facets diamond "Brilliant Lady 21" :s22:

Yup, they do wedding bands even in platinium. Not sure if they have off the rack selections as I did mine as a set to complement/fit the proposal ring. :s12:

If you can wait, try wedding bands with mini solasferas/brellias. Its gonna look awesome.

Your set is self designed or they provide the set package? Wonder if they got a set for my proposal ring. Prob will send them a email to ask.

Custom designed. I think its possible they could come up with something to match your current proposal ring if you have a concept/design in mind.

I do like sparkles but I think the Brilliant Lady 21 looks way way way too busy. Call me biased but I put more trust in Tolkowsky too :D

You can still use the ASET, IDEAL, H&A Scopes to see the diamond.

Personally, I find the scopes more important than the HCA... the HCA is just to filter the bad ones.. to narrow down the good ones, you should use the scopes.. So I guess you can skip the HCA and just use the scopes instead.

Hi guys,

My ring is currently undergoing "construction". In the meantime, I would like to source out for LED light ring boxes since I am going to propose in the night.

Anywhere in Singapore sells these boxes? Else what are the good on-line sources to get them? Thanks!!

Bro, I got the exact same one in the picture.
Check out -> Magical Light Up Ring Box

U can choose white/black interior. I got the black interior to really bring out the diamond.

They do not ship direct to Singapore so you may have to use vpost or borderlinx.
