Sorry, but I would aim for at least VS1 and above (or at worst VS2) for diamond clarity.

hi folks, sorry hijack and OT abit. is a solitaire pendant of the below criteria considered good? what type of price range should i be looking at? saw this for about 900.

Grading from GIA
- 0.3, H&A, F, SI1
- Cut: 3 EX
- Fluorescence: None

Grading from Sigma International Gemology
- Brilliance: Excellent
- Dispersion: Excellent
- Scintillation : Excellent

Thanks!

but to the naked eye, can't really tell the difference between VS2 and SI1 right? especially for a .3 carat?

Personally I find that VS2 and SI1 is a big difference.. and I find the inclusions in the SI1 quite obvious... but even if it is eye clean to you, SI1 quality diamonds are more prone to chipping cos the inclusions are usually all on the girdles... that's why its SI1. (From what I understand, some VS2 also can have inclusions on the girdle).

I would try to go for more internationally recognized certificates like GIA/AGS.
Even IGI certificates are more recognized than Sigma and ppl are already avoiding IGI.

I have narrowed down to these 3 rings.
Appreciate the feedback. Please don't comment on the diamond size, I already chose it as there is significant meaning to the number :)

3rd one looks the best

Yeah, actually I suspected you are referring to Ling jewellery. Their rose gold ring series are to my liking. Color composition is well balanced - in not too pinkish, and not too dull either.
....

does Ling Jewellery do bands?

Yes, they do. Since Ling jewellery website didn't show much of their designs, I recommend you to just make appointment or drop by their shop to take a look at their collections. I quite like the 'transformer' wedding bands.

Just collected my ring. Bought a JP super ideal F vvs2 0.68 carat. :) was comparing with 0.63 solasfera(solasfera comparable pricing) 0.68 is our anniversary date , set in 6 prongs tiffany setting, got 8 hearts and arrows,(68 again haha) diamond certification date is her birthday. so guess that made my decision. Also My personal view is if the solasfera is not big (>0.8) the rock looks cluttered. Stunning though. :)

It's really depend what color u r looking at. If u wan super high end like d vvs1 den small carat size.

If u wan bigger size den plus setting u can get ard 0.63 f vs2 or if maybe g vs2. hard to come across bigger den 0.65 diamond at JP with f color.

I'm still waiting for the next batch to see anything close to 0.68.

Erm tiffany setting is one of the most classic/ simple settings. Originally created by Tiffany and co. You can google for the pics.

Price of my ring is $6527 paid using cash(2% discount). Not really cheap but also not ex. :) good luck to all buying!
